😀 Congrats shuntyman! U have made a great job as after a long time we r been able to c sum1 with 94. Will u plz share ur detail score vd us. May b it would be helpful for ppl like me who is going appear in exam this month. Also plz tell us the difficulty level of exam. we r all waiting for ur reply. we hope u will remember us during this tim of joy.

anat -80
physio -90
micro - 87
den. anat - 89

cum. - 94

books to refer
anat - decks and nbde first aid... also kaplan USMLE
physio/biochem - for both Kaplan USMLE - 1st do this book thoroughly and then decks
patho/micro - nbde first aid and decks...........for refrence KAPLAN USMLE
dental anatomy - released pprs and decks..

first get the grip of theory and do released pprs as u get to know the subjects....... i used to study whole day and late nights, also weekend... so put in as much effort as u can with 1 goal -" to get above 90"

last week u have to revise as much theroy as u can....
last month try to solve as many ques as u can..[esp on sdn..... thanks ppl for posting new ques and keeping the tempo up]
before 1 month u can do theory and try to solve all released ques as u can... do it once... twice ...thrice as many time as u can....

i dont prefer KAPLAN nbde esp biochem, instead go for KAPLAＮ　　　 USMLE..... and also dont prefer any q banks........ just do released pprs thoroughly.

How helpful did you find decks/released-papers/first-aid-book in preparation for subjects? Did you see lot of questions from them?

Please advise. I am getting very tensed up and my exam is nearing very very close. I am solely relying on decks/released-papers/first-aid-book. I just do not have time to go through KAPLAN USMLE books.

Others please chime in too.

it doesnt matter which book u read..... get ur basics clear.... decks and all asda papers especially recent ones r gud sources..... learnt them by heart.
first aid nbde goes parallel with decks, infact many things are exactly the same...... but look out for mistakes in first aid.

still wud advice for KAPLAN USMLE for biochem if u have less time..... all u need to see are all the pathways..... learnt them also by heart.

congrats on your score! You were always tryin hard and finally made it. You mentioned about the pathway from DA, are you talkin about the picture questions that the maxi and mandi teeth with the arrows? Becoz i heard from someone that we don't get the pic questions in the exams nowadays. Also the morphology and identification of the tooth. If its so important from your experience pls share it with us. Thank you for your help.

Plz tell us about percentage u got when u were doing practice with past papers. I am getting around 80 during these and I am worried about it. Tell me the way to improve it.

hi shunty man.. congrats.. wow its like unbelivable to get 94🙂.. everyone is very happy fr u... can u pls tell me how many months and how many hours u studied? i ve been studying since 2 months and feel like i m not done yet wid my preps, nd some people like take exams in juz 3 months prep.🙁 .. pls do guide me and were u even working while studying? cause i started workin nd i was not able to study at all so juz stopped wid the job🙁 ..

had a doubt really confused abt whats ' nbde first aid ' & ' kaplan USMLE ' u mentioned. as i am refering a material called ' first aid USMLE 2007 ' so between the two references u mentioned what wud i be studying

i wud advice tht u cant compare any 1 method of study with your own especially no of correct answers in released papers but make sure that you are able to score more on the same paper when you are solving it for the 2nd time..... develop your own method which suits u the best according to ur time.......... ... get to know everthing that can be asked on nbde and try to understand them as much as u can.... i did KAPLAN USMLE, decks, nbde first aid, released papers, and questions solved on sdn.

kaplan usmle is similar to Kaplan nbde review book but its for usmle people and is more detailed........... and just like usmle people have USMLE first aid theres a book for nbde, nbde first aid

Both are good but u will never find anything outside KAPLAN　 USMLE in NBDE and it helps in clearing concepts...... if u want to do easy way- first aid and hard way - KAPLAN USMLE notes.

Congratulations on ur score. U did really good. Good luck wid admissions.. Can u pls give a rough idea for how many months u prepared, i knw it depends on every individual. But i juz want to knw the hours u put in and months, cause i might ve to go back to my country for family reasons🙁 so ve to take approximate date..

When you say kaplan USMLE does it mean lecture notes for kaplan classes or the USMLE book we can buy from amazon?

I Am Taking My Exam On Nov 20. I Have Read Lippincott And Brs Biochem For Biochemistry..do U Think Lippincotts Is A Gud Book Enuf For Biochem. Just Am Doing The Decks Once...

i dont know abt lippincott bcoz i have not studied it... second it is not a refernce text (confirm this as i cant find the refrence text pdf file on the ada.org as they have updated the site) ..... finaly i would suggests to learn from diff books but make 1 book as ur main book which u shud learn it by heart( if u r comfortable with this method then only follow)

i wud suggests u to study the refrence books by ada...... kaplan usmle..... decks nd released papers nd if u r not half way thru ur exam then try to look go thru them.... otherwise go thru wht u have lernt till now.... repetition is the key.... give ur best nd u will also get the best.

the above book and released papers are enough and also decks .......... give much importance to papers and try to learn answers of the questions by heart.... this will help u clearing your doubts and will definately clear ur basics.
