I just finished my freshman year of college. I ended up with 6 A's and 7 B's, but I got C's in
Cal 2 and Orgo 1. I also got a D in Eng 1102, which I retook and got a B. I know these grades are really bad and I'm really mad at my self because I spent too much time partying and getting use to college.

My question is should I retake Orgo 1 and Cal 2 because I feel like it will look really bad on my transcript?

My current GPA is 3.06

No. Don't retake them unless you have free time in your hands. GPA is not the whole packaged deal, but you should maintain 3.0+... perhaps you have few more years left so what I would recommend you is to bring it up to 3.2-3.3 or better if you can.

In a meanwhile, you should do a lot of EC's to be more of a well rounded applicant. Also, you should do a stellar job your PCATs if you are applying to schools that requires them.

👍

When you retake a class, pharmcas will take the average of the two grades so if u get an A the next time, it averages to a B. Is it worth it? Probably not. Next year, shoot for nearly all A's and keep that trend up and ur GPA will get a large boost by the time u graduate and those C's will look like nothing.

I personally wouldn't retake any classes unless its a C-...

And here's an idea: NO MORE PARTYING.

I never partied... and my GPA is a 3.7!

I would retake O Chem.

There really is no point for retaking Calc 2, as this is not a required course for Pharm. School.

Can you suggest me some EC's and I'm already trying to get a pharmacy tech job?

To the OP, gh0lee went above and beyond. He/she has some great examples though! And I thought I did quite a bit. I second Red Cross (<3) .

So, you should list yours! I would like to see what you've done 😛

For reasons of anonymity I can't specify too much:
Committee chair for a committee with Red Cross.
vice president for a service based organization (and do a lot of random volunteering because of it).
leadership w/ Relay for life (American Cancer Society).
I volunteer at a hospital- first in the micro lab, and now I'm working on injury prevention research.
Undergrad research (no publications, this summer was my first semester and so I'm mostly just helping a post doc).
initiated member of a professional pharmacy organization at my old school (2 yrs), Member of the pre-pharm club at my current university.

Ah, I should've stayed anonymous too... darn 👎

People can search me now LOL.
