Hello,

How does AMCAS know what GPA conversion scale to use, if my grades are all from U of T?

University of Toronto:
Under Grading System Type: Numeric - Canadian (in PDF attached above)

A // 87-100 = 4.0
A- // 80-86 = 3.7
B+ // 76-79 = 3.3
B // 73-75 = 3.0
B- // 70-72 = 2.7
C+ // 66-69 = 2.3
C // 63-65 = 2.0
C- // 60-62 = 1.7
Etc.

They will know you're from Canada in the application and adjust to the grading scale.

Caramilk222222: how do you know it is this one and not the other scales that are listed under Numeric - Canadian in that pdf document?

Thanks.

U of T's grading scale according to OMSAS OMSAS - Undergraduate Grading System Conversion Table - Ontario Universities' Application Centre
best matches the grading scale in AAMCAS for the third row under Canadian grading. For example, a B- is a 70-72 at U of T which only matches to that row, also where an A- starts at 80, etc. :)
