This may be a silly question, but are med schools concerned with one's entire GPA, or just pre-med requirements? I have taken many college courses, how will the schools look at these courses that aren't related to my major or pre-med requirements?

AMCAS (MD) med schools will generally be looking at your entire undergrad GPA (cGPA), as well as the BCPM GPA for all the math and sciences (Bio, Chem, Physics, Math=BCPM) you've taken. They also calculate an AO GPA (all other) for the grades not included in the sGPA. These numbers are generated from all your college transcripts by the application service. Some individual med schools will also generate a GPA for the prerequisites only.

AACOMAS (DO) does not include math in their science GPA, but does include engineering.

TMDSAS (for most Texas schools) has slightly different inclusions in its sGPA.

yes, they will see your grades and courses divided and displayed in a variety of formats, at the end of the day the science and overall GPAs get the most weight and consideration by the admissions committees
