No I haven't. I contacted Steven Carp and he said that there were some delays with processing apps due to glitches in their system and due to the storm. I have a feeling they are just trying to buy more time with their rolling admissions process. My GPAs aren't the most competitive so it would make sense that they are giving the most competitive students acceptances first and rolling through until their spots are full. Good luck!

I cannot wait to hear back from NAU! I think my statistics are pretty competitive. I want to remain in Arizona. I am not sure whether Midwestern and AT Still are worth attending. Their tuition costs are three times the cost of NAU and have very poor rankings. I might still apply to those schools.

Good luck with your applications everyone!

neither at still nor midwestern have "poor" rankings. If you go by just the list that the USA today or whoever it is posted you should reconsider that statement. I believe university of delaware is at the top of most lists and even they say that it's a bunch of bologna because people from other schools essentially do the rankings. Both are solid programs and I have interacted with pt's from both schools (one was from midwestern in illinois, az's curriculum is molded after it) and they have great things to say about them. Both were great therapists.

I can't wait to hear back from NAU as well! It's torture reading about everyone else's interviews and acceptances here from other schools. I'm really looking forward to that NAU interview invite, and perhaps we'll see each other there! 😉

Do you believe that the tuition difference is justified between AT Still and NAU? 90,000 dollars in debt vs 30,000?

I never said anything about tuition but to say that those programs have very poor rankings is a little ridiculous. Especially if you're basing that opinion off of tuition costs

Work experience: I've worked in a county hospital for 4 years doing research. I have a lot of clinical experience working with a diverse patient population. What I've learned here, you can't teach in a classroom so while I may not have a perfect GPA (for those of you worried about that), I have a maters degree and a lot of clinical experience in many areas of healthcare plus really good references so that makes me stand out. That is the key! Just because you have a 4.0 doesn't mean you're going to be a good PT and just because you don't doesn't mean you're not! Clinical experience in different areas in invaluable. Do as much as you can no matter what it takes! 🙂

Thanks!! Went in expecting the worst and am still in disbelief! And also really torn! UW's deadline is in a little over 2 weeks.

A side note for future applicants--I think the weakest part of my app was grade consistency. For folks who are looking to go into PT as career changers, and maybe majored in the humanities with less than stellar undergrad math/science grades, there is definitely hope. Pre-reqs at my nearby CC really helped the GPA. Do your best in your post-bacc pre-reqs and amp up the other areas of your app by volunteering/working, really getting as broad a perspective of PT as possible. Also, get info from your schools early--figure out what they're looking for. Some are very numbers-conscious, and I was told by one admission advisor that if you can (taking into account app fees, location constraints, etc), apply widely as well. Writing the extra supplementals will be a real test of motivation, but if it pays off...do it! Good luck!

Great statistics! I am sure you will be accepted at the university of your choice!
