n/a - 1st time using this forum, messed up on the posting and can't delete it??

Hi wow, congrats! I am so jealous (in a good way). Just wondering - when did you submit your PTCAS and when were they sent via mail? Because one of my transcripts were sent to them wayyy after my e-submission, my PTCAS were sent to the schools much later than it was suppose to. Since Northwestern notifies everyone ahead of schedule, that messed me up i think.

Ahh, congrats again!! must feel so good finding out b4 christmas =)

Acceptances:Wash U, Northwestern, IUPUI, Rosalind Franklin (declined)

Rejections: none yet

Interviews: Emory (declined), Midwestern (declined), Belmont (went to interview but will decline)

Haven't heard anything from UNC or Duke but o well.

Looks like I'll be deciding between Wash U and Northwestern... Still waiting to hear from UIC in January though I love that school too 🙂

Hi, congrats on ur acceptances! I am wondering when u e-submitted your ptcas app??

Nice-looking gpa there btw 🙂

Figured it was time for me to add my stats onto the growing list. 🙂

University: Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)
Major: Early Chilldhood / Elementary Education
Overall GPA: 3.92 (when I graduated)
Overall GPA now: 3.89 (after taking my pre-reqs)
Pre-Req GPA: 3.83 (Sci & Math), 3.79 (Sci), 3.72 (all pre-reqs)
GRE:
420V, 640Q, 4.5A
490V, 590Q, 4.5A
460V, 630Q, 5.0A

Extra-Curric: I am a certified spinning instructor, Les Mills BodyPump instructor, CPR/AED/First Aid certified, during my undergrad I did a lot of volunteer work/activities/part-time jobs, but since I am now in the "real world" I work 40 hours a week and teach 6 exercise classes a week.

Volunteer: 100+ hours of volunteer work between Out-patient, In-patient, pediatrics, visiting nurses association, etc, etc. I have seen almost all of it with the few volunteering stints I did.

(I noticed a lot of people have WAY more volunteer hours... that is so commendable... Since I am "older" and work full-time M-F I don't have much time for volunteering, especially when most clinics/hospital PTs are done by 3-4pm... Hopefully not having as many hours won't be a downfall...)

Applied: Chatham University, Pitt, Duquesne University (All in Pittsburgh, PA)

**As of 10/13 all three schools have contacted me saying that my application has been received and is being reviewed.
** 10/29 - Received invitation to Chatham University for interview!
** 11/19 - Acceptance to University of Pittsburgh by email
** 12/2 - Acceptance to Chatham University by email with formal letter to follow

I'm really trying!! At one of my interviews, I was told by the interviewer that I am "very enthusiastic!" He cleared it up and confirmed that he meant it as a compliment!

I'm just playing the waiting game now...like so many others!

MTAC,

You seem to have very good stats. They are right on par with what UNC expects from their incoming students. When did you submit your app? I know that both UNC and Duke had a much earlier application deadline than other programs. I believe it was Nov. 1. That might play a factor, but judging from your stats alone I would say that you were a viable candidate. Best wishes to you!

TheOx777,

Thanks for the reply.

I e-submitted before UNC's November 1st deadline, on October 31st actually. My application just got verified a couple of days ago, and will be sent out during the next mailing date. Do you think that will hurt my chances? Will I still get a good look? Thanks for your input. I really appreciate it.

MTAC,

I honestly am not sure if your chances will be hurt or not. I would contact both programs to find out the answer to that.

Honestly, some of these waitlists may end up being blessings in disguise. I honestly wish either Pitt or Chatham would've told me "no" because I am having a really, really, REALLY hard time choosing. First Pitt, then Chatham, then Pitt again and now I'm leaning back towards Chatham. Ugh! It's like a seesaw of emotion!

Yeah, but you have two programs that are both great to choose from, but from the outside looking in you can't go wrong with either one, but thats why I said from the outside looking in.

Oh and about TJU. Im not disappointed at all, I just thought they wouldn't get to me this early is what I meant.

And coltsfan, you can't be serious, then again you only applied to one program. And through my research is pretty competitive, but you have strong stats!

Hi Wahoo-They were sent out the first week of October. Good luck to you!!

Thank you much. Congrats on your acceptances and ultimate choice to attend Duke. Hopefully I'll be joining you as Duke is my first choice!

One last question, and this is a big one--How in the world is a Tar Heel gonna fit in at Duke???? I mean, it will be hard enough for me, as a UVA Wahoo to gel, but a Tar Heel? You better start replacing some of that light blue with a darker hue...:scared:

Just found out that Columbia sent me a formal interview invite 2 weeks ago that I never received. I will be headed to NY in less than a month to interview there. Wish me luck guys:xf:!

What do you mean you never received it? I feel like I should have heard back from several schools and haven't yet. Did you contact the school at ask (for lack of better words) "what's up with my app"?
