This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
no way! Emory for sure! 95% positive I will see you there in June! 🙂

I think you are right about the dates ........some.applicants from Sept and early October were offered interview slots in Nov and Dec ...........maybe you can email Miami and in the interim ask Nova for a week extension

I think that is what sucks to most out of this ordeal is that Nova said no to an extension and Miami said that they will be conducting the additional interviews at the end of Jan. So, I will have to put the dep on Nova this weekend and still hope that Miami contacts me. I just keep thinking that I am really in the mix but of course worried that I haven't heard anything.

For those just catching up on my saga:

Let us know how your Army-Baylor phone interview goes; when is it scheduled? Out of curiosity, where did you get your military observation hours and how did you go about getting authorization to shadow in a military setting?

My interview went alright, it was the first phone interview I'd ever done so it was a bit strange.

As far as observations, I live 4 miles from an Army base, so I used some of my school contacts to get it done. (I couldn't ever get a call returned directly from the hospital). As far as the Army base goes, you have to be in the Red Cross database, however if you don't have a miltary post near by they appreciate VA clinic observations.

Hope that helps

Congrats on all the acceptances!

I talked to the admission person at UNF in person last week. She said they probably won't start making decisions till end of march at the earliest. Good luck with the rest of your apps!

I've been a long-time lurker but finally made an account to post here as I just got accepted to PT school. Due to obligations and circumstances beyond my control, I started my application process late, missing the deadlines for many schools that I wanted to apply to. However, I decided to take a shot in the dark and still apply to one school (Boston University) and today my gambled paid off. Hopefully my stats can offer insight or hope to those in a similar situation.

Still haven't heard back from UW-La Crosse, Bradley, or Carroll, but that isn't stopping me from picking UWM. For $45,000 TOTAL, and a first time pass rate of 100% for three years in a row now (they're a new program), AND a class size of 24, I'd be a fool not to do it.

Just joined SDN today after reading threads for like...5 years. Happy to have had this resource as I journey thorough this application process!

Major: Molecular and Cellular Biology

-Cumulative GPA: 3.27
-Pre-req GPA: 3.51

PTCAS submitted 9/19/11

GRE: 450 V (ouch), 780 Q, 4.5 W, total: 1210

Extracurricular: Senior coordinator of Latino outreach program, tutored high school students, member of service frat, founder and President of women's student organization, research assistant, and coach of Senior Odyssey team/research funded by National Institute on Aging, mission trips.

Observation: 60 hours total, inpatient and outpatient, 2 facilities (one rural, one urban)

Applied: Midwestern (IL), Governors State, Rosalind Franklin, Tennessee State (Nashville), Belmont, Bellarmine, Southwest Baptist, AT Still University, Hampton, Marymount, Nova Southeastern University

Interviews: Governors State (declined), Rosalind Franklin (11/11), Tennessee State (phone, 1/20/12), Bellarmine (1/9/12), Marymount (1/28/12)
Acceptances: Southwest Baptist, Bellarmine
Waitlisted: Rosalind Franklin
Deferred: Belmont
Rejected: None yet

Really eager to hear from Midwestern since it wouldn't require a move! Probably will be sending in the deposit for Bellarmine (it's only $100, due Feb 2), but hoping to hear from other schools so I can really make a complete, informed decision. Totally relieved I got in somewhere!

What do you guys know about Midwestern? Too competitive for my stats? Thinking about giving them a call to inquire about my application status.

Whoops... maybe that's why I haven't heard from MU! Kidding, I actually didn't check back to my QR score; I just remembered 1210 overall, so 760 + 450 = 1210.

Thank you, fact checker!

I am from UCO and I am applying. I just graduated from UCO with my Masters in Wellness Management/Exercise Science in May. I applied to Langston, OUHSC, AT Still, and Regis Univeristy. I was waitlisted at Regis. Have you heard from Langston yet? I kind of thought Langston might be a sure thing, but I haven't heard anything yet. I applied for the early admissions process and was told they didn't have enough applicants to do early admissions this year. Was kind of disappointed in that.

I heard from Langston about a week ago and they want an interview. I wouldn't be so sure that Langston would be a sure thing because they only accept 14 students per year. I would expect an e-mail and letter from Langston within the next couple days informing you of your status. If I were you, I would be somewhat excited that I got waitlisted instead of rejected by Regis because they rank 29th in the nation, which is pretty good.

I was somewhat excited. However, I still havent heard from Langston so that cant be a good thing considering they have already contacted you about an interview. Are you going to interview there? Goodluck! You will have to let me know how it goes.

She told me that it would be two separate interviews, each with two of the faculty members along with a writing sample. You still haven't heard from them?! Have you posted your gpa and gre scores?

I've been applying since I graduated with my BS in May of '09 and it's been a hard reality . After working my butt off, letting go of my pride and retaking the classes I did poorly in, getting as much experience as possible, and obtaining my CSCS credential (plus tons of prayer), this year is already turning out to be MUCH better--accepted at UofM, interview at WSU, and 4 schools left to hear back from!

If you want to be a PT, put in the work, improve your application, and don't give up. That's my 2 cents...
