Looking at past year stats, I thought I had a pretty good shot at Texas State. Sent a email thank you note following the interview and the faculty interviewer replied that "we graded you highly." It must have been pretty tough competitition this year and I can understand why as it seems like a great school. Not sure what I'm going to do...

Which TWU campus did you get accepted to? I was accepted to Dallas campus, but also am still considering one other school.

I got accepted to Dallas as well. What other school are you waiting for?

I have an interview at Northern Arizona University in a couple of weeks. I visited the TWU Dallas campus for the intro program they had last weekend and was really impressed!

Well, good luck with your interview at Northern Arizona University.

I wanted to make the intro session last week but had my Texas State interview the day before and couldn't swing the tight schedule. I'm glad to hear they left a good impression on you. That makes me feel a little better since Texas State was my first choice. Now I need to figure out when to get out there to do a quick tour.

Excited to post my stats! I hope to serve as inspiration to non-traditional students, career changers, and those with a low GPA. I applied to a lot of schools because I thought I wouldn't get accepted anywhere. I failed classes in undergrad and was placed on academic probation in my soph year. I seriously thought I'd never be able to redeem myself, but I went ahead and decided to try anyways. I spent two years working full-time as a PT aide while taking pre-reqs and volunteering. It was hard to maintain sanity, but I'm proof that hard work pays off. I'm glad and so thankful that some schools saw potential in me and accepted me! This forum has been so helpful and I just want to say thanks to everyone.

It was an email late morning today. Probably good news if you haven't heard anything yet. I was kind of surprised since they said one or two weeks and its only been five days. The email was kind of interesting. It started out as, "It is my pleasure, on behalf of the DPT Student Selection Committee, to formally notify you of your selection as an alternate..." The email started out great, got my hopes up, then crushed them all in the same sentence. Oh well.

Good luck!

Wow that is a strange way of putting it. All my waitlist notifications have been concise and to the point. Maybe it was a mistake because your stats looked good!

Nomattic, why are you not going to attend MGH w/the scholarship? I have envy for those who received scholarships!

Well, I see it like this. CU costs $48k (in-state rate), while MGH costs $108k. MGH didn't disclose how much the scholarship was for, but I figure MGH would have to offer me at least a $60k scholarship (highly unlikely) to level the financial playing field. I haven't sent in the deposit for CU yet, so I'm keeping a slightly open mind, but definitely planning on CU being the best option for a multitude of reasons. Congrats on your acceptance to Marymount, by the way!

Thanks everyone who has posted on this site, in which I referenced many times throughout this whole process. I hope people in the future can use my stats as a guide since I had very minimum hours and low GRE scores, and still got in where I wanted. It is clear that a high GPA will get more oppurtunities than not, but it isn't everything obviously. I have decided to attend UMASS Lowell as it is a very cheap instate option for myself.

Apply early and look for schools that fit the Clinical Phys Major. For me, i didnt take biology as electives so i had to find schools that would accept EXSC classes in place of BIO. Most accept ex phys and kinesiology in place of those. But i havent been accepted anywhere yet so i should have some more info when i get accepted somewhere.

Yeah I contacted them yesterday. Dr. Gillis said they've sent out their rejection letters and if I didn't get one (which I didn't - phew), then my application is still being considered for interview. I guess it means that if enough people decline the interview then I will be offered one. She said the last day I could be offered an interview would be Feb 21 since Interview Day is Feb 22. Keeping my fingers crossed! 😳

I'm just curious as to how long people had to wait after submitting their applications to get accepted, rejected, or waitlisted. I submitted mine on Oct 31st, and obviously most programs don't review applications until around December, but I'm starting to get extra paranoid, as I'm starting to see more and more people come back with results, whereas I haven't gotten any response of any type aside from an interview. And even that was almost a month ago now

Depends where you applied. Some schools review on a rolling basis and some don't start until after the deadline. So you should just email the admissions director for the dpt program. I submitted mine about the same time and I heard back from some within a couple months and there are some (like CSUN and UW) where I haven't heard anything.
