I too wanted to wait and give some folks hope that a 4.0 and perfect GRE isn't necessary (though it helps) to get in to PT school. I have good "life experiences" in jobs and volunteering that are non-PT related, but have taken everything and applied it towards how it will help me become a better PT. I also love the profession and believe it showed in my interviews. Good luck everybody!

Long time stalker of this forum, but finally posting my stats. I hope this encourages some folks. You don't need an amazingly high GRE or thousands of hours of experience. Your essay will reflect the passion you have for this field!

Extra-Curric: Kinda lazy to break it down but 220 hours of inpatient/outpatient ortho, peds, cardiac-rehab. Lots of PT experience with amputees. I was also a TA for numerous kinesiology classes at SDSU. I did research under graduate students and a professor in exercise physiology. I am an avid marathon/triathlon athlete. I am also attaining my BS Kinesiology in a total of 3 years (graduating this May, woo!).

Applied: CSU Sac, CSU Fresno, CSU Northridge, SDSU, Chapman, UNLV.

Acceptances: Chapman (2/19) - declining, SDSU (2/22)

Rejections: UNLV, CSU Fresno (They required a motor development course and I had a motor 'learning' course so they said it won't count..... Most troublesome school I've applied to. Required many supplemental things from me and whenever I asked to make sure my pre-reqs were aligned they said yes, only to find out a hundred dollars later that they'll say my pre-reqs were wrong 👎).

Interviews: CSUS (3/9) - declining

Haven't heard back from CSUN yet but no longer necessary cause I'm going back to SDSU 😛 reason for which choosing this over Chapman is because I already have a lot of resources and close faculty since SDSU is where I did my undergrad - Also as a dependent of the military they will be paying for my entire grad school tuition! Free grad school tuition..Can't beat that! Very blessed. Can't wait to meet classmates and start school in the fall!

Fortunately, I received the admission from two schools, which is better than nothing. I'm eagerly looking forward to starting PT program in this summer!

Good luck for you!

Congrats on getting accepted to NAU. Curious as to what made you ultimately decide TWU...

It was a really tough decision between two great programs, but TWU ended up being a better fit for my situation. Both programs have an outstanding faculty and student body, but TWU has lower tuition, nicer facilities, a higher NPTE pass rate and graduation rate, and is in a city with a lower cost of living and where my husband will be able to find a better job. On top of that, I liked TWU's curriculum better than NAU's (more focus on research, and clinicals spread throughout the program).

I hear you on the tuition - definitely a big plus. I'll see you out there!

After the rejections stacking up, I realized that it's quite a challenge for international applicants to get into entry-level Doctor of Physical therapy program. I am still waiting for the response from half of schools I applied to, and this waiting process has drained me out. Fortunately, I received the admission from two schools, which is better than nothing. I'm eagerly looking forward to starting PT program in this summer!

Actually you can apply T-DPT like NYU if you have bachelor degree in Korea. I just got admission from NYU. I am also an international student from Taiwan. You can message me if you have any question

Yeah, congrats on your acceptances!
Was wondering what made you decide to go to a school that hasn't received accreditation over AT Still?

thanks and you too! I felt the MWU program fit me better. I liked the labs better and generally just felt more comfortable there. It has a nice campus 'homey' feel that appealed to me. I have no qualms about them not being accredited. It will happen, and in the off chance that it doesn't there's an agreement in place to send students to at still or the other midwestern campus.

you had under 60 hours of observation and got in to NAU?? I'm just curious because it said on PTCAS that their minimum was 100. I had like 110 and one of the reasons they rejected me was because I didn't have enough observation hours...😕 But congrats it's an awesome school.
