Update!!
ACCEPTANCE SUNY UPSTATE
MEDICAL U!! Is anyone else on here going to SUNY Upstate?

Still haven't heard from Columbia or UVM but doesn't matter since Upstate was my top choice 🙂

Here to (as someone said before me) give people with lower GPA's hope! Haha

My Stats:

University: SUNY Binghamton
Degree: B.A. Philosophy, Politics, and Law

Overall GPA: Is this "Total GPA" on the PTCAS application page?
Pre-Req GPA: 3.23
GRE: 148 Quant 152 Verbal 4.5 AW
Volunteer Hours: 128 outpatient Ortho/Neuro/Peds, 35 inpatient Peds/Neuro/ICU
Extras: Yoga Instructor, business owner (I sell my artwork on etsy), academic tutor, 1.5 years working in a NYC hospital as assistant director of the blood donor program, 1 year working at corporate law firm in Manhattan, 1 month travel to southeast Asia on volunteer trip, 1 year volunteer program with local yoga studio, I also work at Upstate part time in a student position.

Applied: Columbia, UVM (Dual Degree DPT+Neuro PhD), SUNY Upstate

Accepted: unsure

Interviews: SUNY Upstate

What do you guys think of my stats? Some people posting on here have crazy stats! I was an undergrad who graduated, worked for five years, then went back to school for the prerequisites and am currently taking those, finishing them up. Has anyone heard about Upstate's interview process, are they a selective school when it comes to interviews?

Thanks 🙂

Update Wait listed

University: University of Maine Orono

Pre-Req GPA: 3.66-3.98 depending on the school
GRE: 157V 150Q 4.0AW

Extra-Curric: Not applicable due to being a nontraditional student, when I was in college I volunteered at the humane society shelter and was in the outing club. Currently I play hockey as well.

Observation: 36 outpatient orthopedics 30 Nursing home with subacute patients and residents 12 Pediatrics with a PT working in a school 2 Home Care. I would have liked to do more but working full time and taking classes makes it hard to fit observation hours in

Applied: Umass Lowell, BU, Simmons, MGHIHP, UNE, Northeastern.

Acceptances: Simmons!

Rejections: Umass Lowell

Interviews: MGH 1/31

Waitlist: BU

For those with low cumulative GPA's there's hope. I graduated with a 2.86 worked hard over the last two years to bring it up to a 3.13. For people going back to school Ace your prereq's and you have a chance. An acceptance to Simmons an interview at MGH and being wait listed at BU is more than I expected!

UPDATE
Note: I feel silly updating at this point since I made my decision several months ago, but I'm just hoping the information may still be useful to people in the future to compare stats during the application process, as I know that helped me. I'm also hoping it will help people on the wait list know I will be declining my spot so maybe one of you guys will hear from BU sooner than anticipated! 🙂

My application was mailed on 9/23 and my stats are:

Hello
I got interviews to Western University and UNLV, waitlisted to Touro Nevada,
haven't heard from Midwestern, NAU, University of Washington.

I'm seeing a lot of people with interviews scheduled for the latter 3 schools.
I'm guessing everybody else has heard from them already?

Not sure about Midwestern, but unless I'm missing something there hasn't been anyone that has heard back from NAU/UW.

Also UW doesn't interview, but we will be hearing back mid-February.

Yeah sorry I saw Midwestern and NAU in the posts, got discouraged and assumed people heard back from UW as well. I guess there's still hope. Oh and good to know UW doesn't interview. one less plane ticket to buy.
thanks.

Am I just being completely oblivious or do I not see a PTCAS prereq GPA? (Or is that the self-reported) And may not be the most appropriate thread, but has anyone's GPA calculations been updated yet?

Each school you applied to will have its own list of prerequisite classes. So the self reported GPA on PTCAS may not be accurate for every school. I calculated my prereq GPA based on the PTCAS grading scale and the classes that were required for the program I applied to. As for the academic update, it took the full three weeks from when they received my transcript not when I actually submitted the update itself. I called PTCAS last week and was given that information. Hope that helped!

Fellow DPT hope-fuls - has anyone applied to Alvernia Univeristy in Reading, PA?? I got accepted and cannot find anywhere on social media or any websites of anyone else getting accepted or even applying. I know it is a brand new program but I thought I'd find something at least on here. Please let me know! Even if you personally have not applied, do you know anyone who has?? Thanks everyone!

Yet another part of me wants to go because with Maryland it has been one of my dream schools, and it would be nice to get away from the cold for a couple of days as it is pretty cold in New England right now.:cold:

Just curious..Did Nova tell you you were waitlisted or did they use the term "On Hold"?

I think they're essentially the same thing, no?

From my understanding they are different. I'm not sure though. I've heard many people say they are waitlisted for Nova but my letter said I'm "On Hold". So I'm just wondering if the people that are saying they are waitlisted got a letter saying "waitlisted" or if they're assuming "on hold" means waitlisted. Confusing..basically I'm getting a little worried and trying to see how long the "hold" list is.

I am really hoping I can make up for my low GPA with my essays, letters of rec, and experience. I want this so bad!!! I'm extremely anxious to get my apps out so I can start getting some responses.

Thought I would throw up an official update. Unfortunately my life situation has changed and I will be unable to leave the west coast for school, and my financial situation is restricting me from traveling to interviews for programs I have limited desire to attend. I learned the hard way that "cast a wide net" is not good advice for someone with a below average GPA. I don't even want to know how much money/time I wasted applying to schools I can't even go to! Do your research on the schools and only apply to programs you would actually attend.

That being said I did all I could to improve my application from last cycle and really hope I get into a WA school. Worst case scenario I get another year to improve my app even more.

Hey everyone,

I just got an email saying that I was put on the "alternate list" for an interview at U of Montana. I was wondering if anyone out there has had experience being on an interview waitlist. I know each scenario will differ, I'm just trying to figure out my general odds of getting an invitation. Did anyone else hear from U of M? Is anyone declining an interview invitation? Crossing my fingers for some good luck here!

Hey everyone,

Has anyone heard back from Univ Washington and CSULB? Still waiting to hear back from them!
