Truman Medical Center is accepting applications until Mid-December for a one year GPR position. The program runs from July 1st - June 30th of the following year.

This program is very well established and has been providing advanced training in general dentistry for over 30 years. The program is well balanced, and provides ample opportunity to sharpen skills in all aspects of general dentistry. This is a hospital based program, and provides dental services to a variety of patients with a plethora of medical presentations.

We perform a broad scope of procedures including surgical extractions, endodontic procedures (including pulpotomy and SSC on our large pediatric population), crown and bridge, operative, and provide training in implant dentistry. One specialist from each specialty (except orthodontics) will be in clinic each month to guide and manage more difficult patients. There are opportunities to accompany staff doctors and assist operating room dentistry on our special needs patients.

There is an academic component consisting of daily lectures in all facets of dentistry.
Rotations: 1 month anesthesia; 1 month oral surgery; 2 weeks family medicine; 1 Week ER ; all other time spent in clinic.

Approved for 6 GME positions, meaning 5 co-residents and call every 6th day* (roughly 5 days per month). Call consisting of "moderate" dental emergencies. Severe dental/dentofacial trauma cases will be treated by TMC Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department at the main hospital.
