Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some input. I'm about to graduate, I have a 3.575 currently. I messed up my freshman year, and have been 4.0 student for a awhile, however great semesters barely change my GPA. Some early classes are bringing me down, I was doing some calculations and if I retake just one class it boosts my GPA up to 3.69 which is a big leap for just one class. This class is offered in this upcoming summer (I can delay graduation until after summer). However I am planning on applying before this grade would be replaced (Im applying day one of the cycle in June, and this grade wouldn't be replaced until the end of August.

Is it worth it for my to retake it still?
If I retake it is there a way to let medical schools know that my GPA will be boosted significantly?
Should I delay applying until after its replaced? (putting me late in the cycle)

Does anyone have any recommendations?

I appreciate the help!

Medical Schools do not replace grades. They will average them. Osteopathic schools replace grades.

Thank you for your reply, I understand that its a average for MD and all. My question is more on the timing issue of me retaking the course after I have applied

Well I don't think AMCAS lets you update your GPAs. So what you submit with your application is what they'll do your GPAs with for verification. I'm not sure this still the case so check it out. How can your GPA possibly go from a 3.575 to a 3.69 with one course? Especially this late in your college career.

This is right.
