I am in my last year and am applying. I have a pretty good gpa from first three years, 3.87. I am taking a lot of my humanities and writing classes (not my favorite) and am doing pretty bad (probably C's). Are med schools going to ask for first semester (fall) grades if I interview after december? How much should I really be concerned? I don't have an acceptance yet or I would feel better. Advice...

Are you a UF undergrad?

I know last year some schools did request fall grades from people who hadn't been accepted. I can't remember which ones (I was accepted in Nov) but some of the NY schools are what I recall... also remember that an update letter with good news/grades can bring your folder to the top of the pile again and shows interest so you might get an acceptance from it... my advice is don't let those grades slip til you have the acceptance in your hand. Keep studying hard! Then once you get accepted the general rule is pass everything but don't make straight C's and you should be fine.

Problem is I failied an midterm and I am passed the add/drop deadline. So, I am debating taking the class pass/fail or making a C. I am just wondering how much 1 C matters or if pass/fail looks bad?
