gram positive vs. gram negative cells

which ones have outer membrane? I always thought it was the gram negative, but just read that it's the gram positive ones

What study materials are you reading? Where did you read that it's gram positive?

Gram positive have a thicker peptidoglycan cell wall, which allows it to retain the crystal violet stain. The gram negative bacteria have a thinner cell wall but contain a LPS outer membrane....
