Hello All!
I'm new to this forum, but I have a dilemma I could definitely use your help on.
As of now, I've gotten into Berkeley's journalism program (YAY!) and master in public health programs at george washington university and claremont graduate!!! I'm extremely excited for what the future holds, and I wouldn't be in this position without the help you provided.
So now I'm in the wonderful but also very tough position of making a decision, and once again I could use your input.
I'm torn as to which school I should choose. I had originally applied to the dual degree program at Berkeley, a 3 year program where I would earn a masters in both journalism and public health, but I did not get into their public health program. The advisor from Berkeley suggested that I enter the journalism graduate program this fall, then either reapply for the dual degree, or apply during my second year for their one year accelerated mph, saying I'd have a pretty good shot at acceptance since I'd already be a student at the school and I could take key public health classes before hand, so long as I was doing well. Although I'm in love with Berkeley, and journalism, I'm wondering if it's worth the gamble to choose their journalism program in the hopes of also entering their masters in public health (since it's not guaranteed that I'd be accepted, good shot or not) and turn down George Washington or Claremont, mph programs I've already gotten into.
Also, what do you think of George Washington's Health Communication track?
Any thoughts? Whether or not you're into journalism, I'd appreciate the input!!
Applied: BU, Tufts, UCLA, UCB, GW, Claremont
Accepted: GW, Claremont
Waiting on: Tufts
Waitlisted: BU
