What could it be? There is a letter waiting for me...have people been getting snail mail rejections? Oh well.

Yeah I called a few days ago and they told me something had just been mailed out to me. Probably a rejection, but I dunno because I was just complete a few weeks ago (they never got my letters and I had to resend them). Could I get rejected that fast?

i wouldn't even go there over where i'm in (not a better school, just different location), but i'm just so sick of getting all these rejection letters. it kinda makes you feel sad even if you genuinely don't care so much about the school

Actually, come to think of it, that was the exact word used when I called too. Some additional "information." And then I asked "so it's a decision?" and she said "well I can't tell you if it's a decision or just some information." Oh well, rejection

It stated that they had completed their interviews for the Fall 2006 class BUT that they were keeping a small pool of applications active in case they decide to interview more people later this spring. Apparently I'm in this pool with a "very slim" chance of being interviewed....

That is so strange because some of us are "on hold" until February... Some freakin hold, if they already done interviewing! 🙄

Yeah, I was notified of my "on hold" status in December by email. I'm not sure that being in this pool with a slim chance of getting an interview is any better since I'm still in a holding pattern. But at least this felt like a more formal notification of my status since it was on nice stationary and sent by mail!

Yeah. I CALLED them yesterday and they said my application would be reviewed next week (I was on hold). I will warm my fireplace up for my expecting correspondence.

obviously it didn't mean much since i'm still not accepted, but it's more of a slim chance that they gave me that kinda made me happy......those jerks

Kinda funny actually..I got the same letter last yr and was so hopeful..then this yr I learned that the previous yr they had overbooked the class so no one was even pulled off the waitlist, let alone there being a need to interview even more applicants over the summer. They really need to stop doing this and just send straight rejections out. I find it very hard to believe that GW ever needs to interview any more than the 1000 applicants they normally interivew every yr.

I was thinking...if GW got over 11,000 applications, at $100 a pop, that's over a million bucks. How much do you think they pay the guy who took 2 seconds to read my application, crumple the paper into a ball, and toss it in the wastebasket? He must be the most overpaid schmuck in the history of the universe.

Now I see how GW can afford such nice digs.

So... first they sent interview invitations and then they sent rejections? Can you tell us when the letter was dated? And same with you rejects, can you tell us, too? (I'm just teasing you, I'm sure I'll join your ranks within a few days.)

contrary to what many seem to believe, GW is not done sending out interviews...they interview through march and invite about `1 month prior to interview....so i'd give it another 2 wks....3 wks max...

just got this info on the phone a min ago
