Just got my letter 🙁 ...made this thread so the rest of us can commiserate. I havent heard of any post-interview rejections so I cant help but think the waitlist is at least a few hundred

i got a post-int rejection, and i had a great interview day....well, that makes me feel much better about my app in general

Sorry to hear that Vizsla, I know how much you like GW. But at least it wasn't a rejection. There's still hope, right? Right!

And now you can be an official member of the GW alternate list club here on SDN. Aren't you excited? No? Well I wouldn't really be either, but at least it gives us something to do to pass the time until whenever the list starts to move.

well i think i have a long time to wait since i didnt get a "top of the alternate list" letter....

Seriously. Are YOU studying for neuroscience and endocrinology right now? That's what I thought. Get typing.

Also, there are several GW threads floating around. I think should consolidate them into one official thread (like VCU Central, except for GW of course). I was thinking, "GW Love Club" because it kind of rhymes with VW bug. I am, however, open to better suggestions, which I know people will have. 🙂

i'm doing ok. i'm still in the same situation as i was in january...waitlists and holds. uconn told me they should say decide by mid-april (which used to be february or march 🙄 ).

A LOT...seriously it seems like they waitlisted a crapload of people this yr. Although its great that this yr theres actually going to be some movement off the waitlist unlike last yr, I think it kinda cancels itself out since gw waitlisted so many...hopefully people will drop their waitlist spots as they get accepted to other schools

See, I was reading through the old thread from last year too and saw that there was some movement. However, the strange thing is, when I interviewed, they specifically told us that there was no movement whatsoever last year from the waitlist so I was confused by the movement I read about on SDN...

I think they did take some people, even though that gave them more than their usual 165 (I remember on my interview day that Matt mentioned it was something like 177). So my best guess is that they were already full, but they decided to squeeze in a few extra people from the waitlist to be nice.

Yeah GW waitlist here too. I haven't gotten in anywhere yet.. I think I'm doomed to be waitlisted all summer.

Waitlisted here also, but may drop this one for another school that I am in at. So there you go, at least one slot open 🙂 I liked GW and DC was amazing! However, the tuition is pretty hefty. Do you all think the school is worth the cost? Im interested to hear your thoughts.

I think youre paying a lot for the area ...DC is quite expensive so the schools there (gtown, gw) are also...I dont know how much tuition is at Howard. I love the DC area and while I dont think that should ever be your number one priority in picking a school, its definitely up there on my list. I think gw has a solid program and their students really impressed me with their friendliness and cohesiveness.....HOWEVER, if you do decide to drop ur waitlist spot after deciding another school is a better fit, then we will all be forever grateful 😀

I would encourage all applicants to be this courteous as soon as they definately know that they would not be attending a particular school that they have been accepted to/waitlisted to.

We're all in this struggle together, why not help each other out when we are in the capacity to. 🙂

I have been emailing frequently (because when I called, thats what they said to do), but it seems like calling may be better (not sure how often they go through the emails). Have you written them a letter of interest/intent yet? I think you are supposed to send one in response to the recent alternate list/pool letter. Other than that, it seems like calling would be better, although I have no idea how often; you don't want to bug them too much.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing. Apparently, being on the high waitlist is not an automatic acceptance before the regular waitlist. This gives me a little hope...
