I stopped by the admissions office today and it took all my power not to ask Leah to just accept everyone on the SDN waitlist....LOL. She would've probably just stared at me, and then reported me to the Deans for possible insanity.

Kinda tall girl? I LOVE her, she's incredible! She was my pharm study partner and we'd study everything in british accents for sh*Ts and giggles....

Again I am in wash DC, staying right in front of the GW hosp. I had ice cream yesterday sitting on the benches right in front of the medical school. I'll tell you, I love this school more than I can even express, I was sitting out there and thinking wow this could be me here for REAL in just a few months. Great feeling, but I should really stop teasing myself like that.

Anyway, it looks like another week is wrapping up, with no movement. Maybe better luck next week.

ahhhh the weather is so much better than that yucky, sticky, humid crap that people call "seasons" on the east coast. Clear blue skies, 90+ degree dry heat. It's absolutely GORGEOUS! 🙂 Are you from the bay area brickhouse? Oh and how'd the test go?!? My bf took it yesterday too and then proceeded to get wasted... 🙄

🙂 So how did it go? Or can you tell? I rarely can tell how I did on a test after taking it.

And thinking positive thoughts about the waitlist can be good at any time. Somebody could be poised over a mailbox right now, just about to drop in their withdrawal.

I'm a southern californian actually. my bro lives in the bay area. But I think Cali is perfect from top to bottom, except maybe Fresno.

The test was ROUGH. Really the hardest thing I've done in med school, I feel like I passed a kidney stone. I'm lying in bed and plan to do so for the entire day. I did drink a bit last night though, so that was fun!

Did you really just stop by the admissions office? I live in the area too and have been tempted too, but was scared i'm come off crazy. Who did you get to speak with/ ask to speak to? Were they helpful?

Oh you're really sweet - I'm actually a third year at GW and I stopped by before a meeting to say hi to friends, but I'm pulling for all the waitlisters so I'm always tempted to try to harrass them for information, even though I know it's probably not gonna do much good. It's the thought that counts, right? 😳
You wouldn't come off as crazy, people do it all the time. The squeeky wheel gets the grease, as they say.

congrats 3rd yr!! have a safe trip back home 🙂 For the rest of us, the wait continues....We do have the ENTIRE month of july so somethigs gotta happen. at this point Id take a call from Dean McQuail even if it was just well wishes for my next application cycle

Thanks. I do remember. Kind of a long story though:

It was actually a 703 number, because Dean McQuail called me from her cell phone (I think). Apparently she didn't have my phone number (d'oh!), so she e-mailed me earlier today asking me to call (but without any indication of why, so I was nervous) Well, today was one of the infrequent times I wasn't obsessively checking my e-mail (because I was sleeping after staying up most of the night watching season 2 of scrubs) and so I didn't get the e-mail until this afternoon. Anyhoo, by the time I called the GW number back Dean McQuail wasn't in and got her voicemail and left a message with my cell phone number. Then, she called me back after checking her message from wherever she was (off campus someplace I assume) and offered me a place in the class. And the rest, as they say....well, you know. 😛
