I will most probably be attending Temple in the fall. Just realized that when I was on my Tour of the campus during the interview they did not show me the gym.

Can Temple students comment on the gym? Is it any good? What excercize facilities are available?

thanks kindly

I'll be honest, the gym is pretty awful. For one thing, the hours are so sporadic because a student hurt themselves a few years ago and now they need to have a work study student in the gym at all times. Sometimes it is open in the morning before class, sometimes it's not. There's only 2 ellipticals, 1 treadmill, and 2 bikes so if you go at like 5 or 6 when a lot of people go you might be waiting for one of those. The rest of the gym is weight stuff which I guess is pretty adequate, but as I am a female I rarely do that.

Anyways, the gym is doable for anyone, it's just really small and the hours are annoying.

We used to call the gym at Temple "The Dungeon". Sounds like not much has changed since I left there. We used to be able to get a very cheap membership to the gym at TJ which was very nice. Don't know if that's still available.

I was told that pod students have unlimited access to their other campus as well? Is this true? Does anyone take advantage of the gym on the bigger campus (I am assuming there is one?)

I use the gym at the main campus. It has regular hours and is more than adequate. I go later at night because it is an undergraduate gym and gets really busy before 8pm. There is a lap pool, plenty of cardio, and several racquetball courts. They just opened a new cardio and light weight gym across the street. It looks nice, but haven't been there yet. Hope this helps.

Dude. Check out the gym at Scholl. Its very state of the art and updated. If you're looking for a premier place to work out Scholl is the answer to your prayers.
