Yes, and they will check up on you without warning. Too many hits and your scholarship will be revoked. In fact a classmate of mine just got her 3rd and final warning not too long ago.
Smells like bulls***.
Inactive reservists do not have to conform to grooming standards.
Vellnueve, it doesn't matter that they are in the IR while on the HPSP scholarship. The Navy has the HSCP as well as the HPSP. Anyone on the HSCP is on active duty and must follow all articles of the UCMJ. They have to follow all rules and regs EXCEPT grooming standards (pointed out directly in our contract). Essentially, it doesn't matter if someone is on active or in the IR. If you are in school you can groom yourself any way you want.
While true, not strictly relevant as he stated he is Army HPSP. Not even sure why koreano even bothered posting that stupid response.
I know he was referring to the Army HPSP, but his title to the thread was generic so other people may search for this answer in regards to AF HPSP , Navy HPSP or Navy HSCP. Also, you made reference that because he was in the IR it didn't matter how he groomed his hair. I just wanted to point out that it doesn't matter which type of military dental program you are in (IR via HPSP or active duty via HSCP) - grooming standards do not apply!
I have never read their contracts, but basing my info from my friends who have done either the AF or the Army HPSP scholarships. Are you sure about that? I've never read read the Army or Air Force HPSP contracts.
