I am a P4 student at HUSOP. I know we have some problems, but those problems are not educational at all. We are short faculty - this is true - but it doesn't mean that we are any less smarter than other students. In fact, preceptors from our area have praised us for being extremely competent. I have made some really great friends here and it just saddens me when people say the school should burn down, or we should lose our accredidation because there are too many Rx schools out there. The people that i am studying with are going to become excellent pharmacist and i would trust them 100% as my pharmacist. Yes, our school is leaking, and yes we go to school in a shopping center, but ill be the first one to say, that chinese resturaunt next to us is damn good! Please leave the dissing of HU to the students, not those just reading some article.

Wow. Untimely mistakes, huh?

The bold font indicates bad grammar or wrong spelling. You can't complain about poor grammar with poor grammar. 😀

Oh... but you can... This is the internet, and different rules apply here. To the person who brought this thread back - The people here aren't racist.

They hate idiotic people. For reference, you can be an idiot from any race.

And just because I am feeling vary PC today - I am not inferring that you are an idiot - just that this forum particularly enjoys making fun of them.

sorry carboxide for not pressing my finger all the way down to make that "s" after pharmacist. Truth be told, though, it's scary that we there is a lot of judging going on in a medical forum. I wonder how some of you will treat your patients...

Are you serious? Welcome to the internet.

People are tools on the internet because you have no idea who they are. It has nothing to do with how they treat a patient. I post all kinds of weird **** on other forums, but that does not mean in real life I am sitting there making fun of an elderly person because he is taking awhile to fill out a form.

All I can say is don't jealous HU. They're gonna be fine ! Be proud and thankful for whatever school you are. Lets be realistic if you and me will decide to be a teacher after graduating and accepting whatever pay rate. Do you think HU and other pharmacy schools will be facing problems of faculty shortage? I think ACPE should intervene on how to retain students after they graduate. As for comparing schools, most pharmacy school does not have standard interview process across the board which give more chances for bias. Always remember that the practice of pharmacy does not depend on whatever school you are but your personal determination to transform your environment to save patient lives.

3rd in the nation????? NO! it's ranked 3rd lowest, as the post earlier stated... Definitely NOT top 3..

Bottom line, ACPE gave HU probation because of the faculty size. Not because the students are dumb, not because they aren't learning as well (even though their pass rate sorta sucks), not because they are black. It's not the students fault, or the faculty's fault. It's the Dean's fault for not hiring or keeping teachers. End of story.

Sry I meant it was ranked the 3rd best HBCU (Historically Black College/University) in the nation, not out of all colleges, or all pharmacy schools for that matter.

On one it's ranked 4th, the other it's ranked 2nd out of all the HBCUs. And btw, I spoke with someone from the college, and I dont think this probation will last, that is, if the school still is on probation.

Well spoken from an HU student his/herself!

This sounds very ideal and all, but it's just that: ideal. There are few people who genuinely care about helping patients. Many people can't even get pass their own problems; how are they going to help others?

Anyway, I'm sorry for sidetracking, but you need to step into the real world. I didn't post anything about HU. I don't know the school's situation, so I won't comment. My post about the poor grammar was an attempt to invalidate that one person's post.

* Edited for grammar 😀
