Hi all

I Have completed my orthopaedic residency outside US and I am also completing hand surgery fellowship. I want to pursue a hand surgery programme in the US. I would like to know what are the chances of me getting into a programme. The reason I am asking this is because I will have to go through the arduous task of writing USMLE. I would like to know if it is possible to get into a fellowship after all that hard work?

Thanks for your time guys.

Kleinert in Louisville, KY has a long history of taking international fellows. I don't know of any other programs that do this consistently.

Triple that. Out of the 20-25 fellows at a time at Kleinert, ~ 20 are from overseas. When I was there it was heavy in fellows from Argentina, the UK, and India. They have had a lot over the years from southeast asia and Australia as well.
