The date in the MSAR is Feb 28, are you sure of this??

Hey Coops,

That's just what I got from the e-mail. We should probably be asking someone who interviewed there what they heard from admissions for a definite answer. Also, it says that applicants will have heard by then (March), so Feb 28th may be the earliest date someone might hear.

H&T

According to MS1s, acceptances were received March 9 or 10 last year. We should expect similar dates this year.

Alright, I guess that makes more sense. So, I suppose they will be sending out decisions sometime during the first week of March ... Man ... the wait is KEELING me :scared:

My bad Coops, I didn't realize that you'd already interviewed there. Think happy thoughts... my Cleo sense shows me a positive outcome in your future 😉

wow, so i guess decisions will be mailed in 4 weeks?
this process has gone by so quickly!

Not quickly enough for some medhopeful08...

To all of the folks that survived the chopping block and advanced to the next round... best of luck to you! 😀

H&T

haha, by no way am I saying that this process has been easy. in fact, it's been anxiety-ridden....filled with sleepless nights....worrying about what's in my email inbox and PO Box.

i'm just glad final decisions are coming soon. i'm very exhausted from this whole process - it definitely sapped alot of my energy. and i just can't seem to concentrate on school!😱

At my interview at Harvard I was told that Harvard mails its decisions the first week of March.

I really wasn't thinking about it that much before. Jeez, that isn't that far away at all!

Here's hoping that all of the people on this board get a big fat acceptance letter in early March!

hm, at mine someone told me that we would find out before march (for hst). then again, i also heard beginning of march. i like before march better, though.

i also heard from previous years that hst students accepted receive an email.

hi strangeattractor,

did you also hear from HST that decisions are going to be mailed out in late feb? i heard the same on my interview day.

yes indeedy. that's what i meant by "before march." who wants to call up the admissions office and ask? i call not it!

Best of luck you HST crazies ... thats a little too much math for me... ugh!

Coops

Does anyone know how many students are accepted to HST? For an entering class of 30, the acceptance number must be fairly small =(

I feel the same way! Travelling and anxious waiting has completely detracted my focus. I really can't seem to study for hours at a time....hopefully everything will end by March.

Good luck

Hi MedHopeful,

I've heard that HST admits approximately 40 students out of 100 interviewees for their class. Naturally, not everyone choose to attend, but I believe the ~75% matriculation rate is consistent with Harvard's average matriculation rate for New Pathways.

Good luck!

Thanks sv!
I wonder how the admissions people make such difficult decisions. Everyone I met on my interview day was incredible.

Are you leaning towards HST over New Pathway?]

we've still got a good 10 days to 2 weeks left! you gotta relax or you'll never last. which one is your preference?

JulianCrane,

Is there a school you HAVEN'T interviewed at ...

😉

Hey Coop, I think we met at Wash U. You went to UVA right?

What does it matter to you? Do you really think they will be interested in an applicant with such HORRIBLE taste in soaps? I mean, all soaps are bad, but Passions? Man, that one is the worst!

Passions is such a good show. It doesn't conform to what other soaps do, and it's original and inventive. 😀

Skonk,

Hey, whats up bud! Yep, I was there. I can't quite place a face on your name, but then again, I don't know what your real name is! I sent you a PM. Hope everything is rolling smoothly for ya...

🙂

Did anybody end up calling hst to ask when they're sending their decisions? 😀

hmm well, since monday (the first) is only a week away, it might not even be worth it. if only i weren't hearing from ~2 or 3 other schools at this time, i wouldn't be gnawing my nails off.

on the other hand, anybody want to call?

i might give them a ring tomorrow, b/c i heard that HST usually notifies its applicants a bit earlier.

but if someone else is willing to call, let me know!

I called HMS yesterday and they told me that they will be sending the letters starting next friday (ie March 5th). Good luck everyone!

I think that jives with years past. Most people last year said they received notification around march 10.

I called hst yesterday and all they said was that they would send them out sometime next week. Has anyone gotten a more specific answer from them?

I spoke to a very helpful person from the admissions office yesterday and she said that they will start sending out letters on March 1st and continue to send them until March 5. She said that they go out "sort of" in alphabetical order. I asked her rejections/acceptances/waitlist go out in a particular order and she said no. I wish everyone the best of luck!

Historically,
PRE-interview rejections are sent FIRST, while POST-interview decisions are all sent together.

Niema,

March 1-5, are those decisions for HST or for NP as well?

Thanks.

NP and HST MD decisions. Those that are applying for MSTP can expect the MSTP decisions a week later.

niema --

I was under the impression that the admissions offices were separate and thus had their own schedules. Is that not true? Which admissions office did you speak with?

Thanks for the info!

Hey!

I called the general admissions office. I didn't ask specifically about NP or HST but the person didn't ask me to specify and said that they will be mailing out all the letters next week staring monday and ending friday. I hope this helps.

Oh great! Harvard is sending out acceptances when i am out of the country!

Good luck everyone.

So what is the concensus on ship date or order of sending? Rejections first?

Somebody needs to call....Not it 😀

I love leap year. Everything comes one day later. 🙄

I think they're all being sent out on the 4th (Thursday). At least, that's what was told to me. That means we've got until Friday or Saturday until the first people hear.

goodluck everyone!!!

not to scare people but i know that hst generally sends out EMAILS. and that they find out earlier than new pathway peeps. maybe it will change this year, though.

I don't think there's a way not to scare us (not that I'm an HST candidate). Here's to hoping for some good news for us NP applicants!
