Hello, everyone, and thank you for taking the time to read this thread. I recently finished my senior year at my university with a major in biology and I plan on applying to medical schools in the near future. Due to personal reasons, I was not able to get a successful grade in my biochemistry course during my final semester and ended up receiving a "D". I have already scheduled a retake of the course and will be giving my best effort to successfully complete the class. My question is, have you or anyone you know been accepted into medical school having gone through a similar circumstance as myself? My ballpark GPA is around 3.4 and I am scheduled to take the MCAT later this year. I have read many threads about the possibilities of being accepted into medical school with a "D" but have yet to find anyone who has actually gone through, or knows of someone who has gone through the process of retaking a course, and then successfully being accepted into a medical school. I sincerely thank you for any tips, stories, help, and advice you might have.
