Has anyone done bad and used TBR books?

There are waaaaaaay to many factors that go into an MCAT score. For example, someone who spent 1 hr a day for a month using the TBR books is probably going to have a much lower score than someone who spent 6 hrs a day for 3 months. I could go on and on. TBR provides all the tools you need to do well on the MCAT. It's up to you to learn build your skill set.

OP, to answer your question: Yes

Just as people who've used TPR or EK or Kaplan or Chad's Videos, etc... have done bad

But for everyone that has done bad, there's another person that has done good. There's no magic formula. Pick a review set, study with it, and knock the mcat on its ass!

my first MCAT prep involved reading TBR books. I took really good notes as I try to understand and memorize every single detail in those books. Unfortunately, I gave myself very little time to practice those amazing passages. I thought that as long as I read and understand everything in TBR books, I'll be fine. Boy was I wrong!
For my retake, my notes really helped me cut down the time I spent on content review. I realized that i had a good understanding of the material but not the practice to apply all my knowledge. So my retake prep was 70% practice, practice, practice.

Also, don't use TBR bio books. they give you too much info. The Bio passages are gold but reading all those long chapters with so much details is not something I would recommend.
