Has anyone heard from RUSH?

Any interviewees from 3/26 hear anything? So nervous! Extremely worried I did not get an evite to 2nd look...

Same here!!! From what I have seen, no 3/21 or 3/26's have gotten any evites! I'm expecting a waitlist or rejection soon....(better to be pessimistic)

Anyone hear different!!

Dr. Dorian, to add hope, many Rush people don't seem to post on SDN, so there may very well be 3/21 and 3/26 people getting e-vites. They are just not posting about it. They wouldn't interview you if they didn't have some spots open; waste of their time and money. I bet that your file just hasn't been talked about yet, because there's only so much time in a meeting. Goodluck with the wait, stay sane. :luck:

Yea, but I'm pretty sure April 15 was the deadline for offering first round acceptances....🙁
 
Just to remain positive here, I'm still not completely certain that

a) Rush sends evites before acceptance letters 100% of the time
b) all decisions have been made about 3/21 and 3/26 interviewees

It's just that Jill seemed very hand-wavy about when we'd hear back, at least at my interview day. And she never mentioned evites. I'm not saying I don't believe the people who got them, I'm just saying perhaps they were unique. That said, I too have a definite sense of dread, but, until that letter comes we still have hope.

Edit: Also, it seems that not all decisions are being made/sent at the same time.

2nd Edit: Once again, nothing from Rush in the mail today.
 
The worst part of all of this is that if I have a rejection letter on the way they may send it to my old address so I will have more wait time to go crazy!

Seems like the recent decisions were made for the last few groups of interviewees. I know there were interviews on 3/19, 3/21, and 3/26 which means from 45 - 60 interviewees that would need to be assessed. We had about 15 in the 3/26 group but appartently this was on of the smallest grouops. If this is the case, then maybe they haven't had a chance to review us all. I also have to agree that Jill Porter said they would try to get responses out by 4/15 but never said this was an absolute date. Best of luck to everyone that is still waiting and to those that have been waitlisted. I'm still hoping for an acceptance!

Received an email rejection from Rush today.
 
Just got my evite from Jill Porter about an hour ago 😀 and I interviewed on 3/7!! There's still plenty of time for you later interviewees, especially if they just got to my file. Good luck!

I got the evite too! I guess monkily_stealth did know the answers! I'm pumped beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!

Soooo... is it just me and KC slowly descending into psychosis right now? I'm actually happy every day I don't get something in the mail, now that I know about the evites. Damn you sdn, you wealth of knowledge.😡
 
I read this every day to see what's happening. I wait till May 15th to find out where I am on the waitlist. I wish you guys good luck. Hope the e-vite is coming your way soon.

Hey now that you've been accepted you should call Jill Porter and thank her and then try to squeeze out of her if all final decisions have been made or when the will be wrapping up! And then post some answers in this thread for those of us still waiting...of course. 😉

I will see what I can do guys, as I know how hard what you are going through is. If I remember correctly, she said if you haven't heard by mid / late this week, drop her an email. I planned on doing just that. For the record, I have not gotten my official letter yet, so I will let you know what that arrives.

I couldn't fight the urge and left a voicemail with Jill Porter today. I also called someone else thereand she's going to try to see what is going on for me on Monday.

Well, guys, the suspense was fun, but I got my letter today. I am officially waitlisted. I can't say I'm happy, BUT I definitely can't say I'm sad. I know that not everyone gets on this waitlist, so I am not about to complain. Thanks for all the support while I waited. Fellow waitlisters, do you guys remember when/how Jill said we would find out where we are (top/middle/bottom third)?
 
Pardon my naivety, but how much do you guys know about Rush and Letters of Intent? So far, besides SDN, I've seen on Berkeley's website that most schools don't want letters from waitlisters. Doing a Google search on "letter of intent medical school" brings up almost nothing but SDN pages. But most people on here seem to think that they could be a crucial part of an application. I guess the thought is that it couldn't hurt, right? Or is there more that I don't know?

Some food for thought ReachingTruth. Perhaps Rush has a bias against Cubs fans, seeing as they house the staff of the recent World Series Champion, no-hitter throwing pitcher White Sox...might want to change that avatar of yours. :laugh:
 
Checked the mail today...and again nothing. Every day around 5 pm I get really anxious because I'm headed home to where the mails is.

Haha. Oddly enough, we discussed my baseball allegiances in my interview. I proposed that they could try to change me to a Sox fan, if they accept me. They are still deciding if they're up for the challenge.
 
I got my waitlist letter in the mail today. Better than a rejection, but still very very upseting. The letter said that they offer approximately 250 acceptances which includes the ones to those on the waitlist. Anyone know approximately how many acceptance they have extended at this point?

I'll be starting to work on my application for next year!

assuming the evite was sent to every single person who received an acceptance, they've offered 226 acceptances. best of luck you getting off the list, and keep us updated!

Only 205 were offered, not 226. the count of 226 includes all the guests that came on the 2nd look day.
 
Hey jrock where did you get the info from? Do you have any idea how many people got waitlisted? Thanks again for the info!

Sorry but I do not have any "inside" info. The evite at the top lists the total numbers including any additional guests. Towards the bottom of each of "yes" "maybe" and "no category, it lists the actual number of individuals invited so I just added those up (# of yes, # of maybe, # of no) and it was about 205. (ofcourse these do not include the number of ppl who have been accepted but not put on the evite). hope this clears stuff up and good luck.
 
I have not sent in a LOI. I am trying to think of what to do to improve my chances of getting into the top 1/3. Someone there had told me that they didn't feel that an LOI would help. I'm going to give them a call on Monday to see what their thought is now that I am waitlisted. I'm also wondering if maybe another strong letter of recommendation would help.
