I have applied to 24 programs originally mid-July and added Meharry and Upenn last month. So far, I had two rejections from Roseman and LLU early October and that's about it. Schools haven't contacted me in regards to my application other than letting me know that it is complete and asking for my patience.

Do you guys know when schools invite you for post December interviews. I have seen people posting about having interviews in December and January, but I am not sure when majority of post-december invites are sent?

I made this threat two months ago and includes my stats and everything.

So far I have received 2 rejections from LLU and Roseman, which has made me a little worried.
I submitted my application on 07/21/2017 and it was verified on 8/07/17.
Here is my GPA and DAT scores:

1st time DAT score (2016): Bio 19/ GC 16/ OC 15/RC 15/ QR 15/ TS 17/ AA 16/ PAT 15
2nd time DAT score (2017):Bio 22/ GC 20/ OC 24/RC 18/QR 17/ TS 22/ AA 20/ PAT 19

B.S. in Biology: Overall GPA 3.2, Science 3.0
Freshman: 3.19
Sophomore:3.49
Junior: 3.30
Senior: 2.96 (went through housing crisis, family member loss, and depression during the first semester ; however, I was able work everything out and receive 2 B+ and 1A+ second semester while working full time at a dental office.)

I have strong extracurricular and recommendation letters (all from upper division science teachers and managers) as well.

URM and California resident

I applied to 22 programs:
UCSF, UOP, LLU, WUHS, USC, PENN, PITT, CRE, NYU, LECOM, TEMP, UDM, CASE, MQT, TUF, UL, MYD, BU, USN, COL, MICH

I was student mentor for 1.5 year/was vise president of dental club/ worked at a dental office for 7 month/ Improved my DAT score/ currently working two jobs:cashier and math, english, bio, and chemistry teacher (average of 75 hrs a week)/ supported a family member financially throughout undergrad/ and lots of other extracurriculars.

I think schools are still giving them out. I just got one on Monday. Once decisions go out December 1st, I imagine there will be some cancellations and some more spots will open up!

I have absolutely no idea what's going on with my application. I applied to 6 schools (Temple, upenn, harvard, rutgers, columbia, maryland). I only heard back from and interviewed at temple. I am freaking my balls out here.

(3.92 GPA, 20 DAT).

Just curious but why didn’t ou apply to more schools? Harvard, PENN, and Columbia seem like reaches.

I agree with the above. I personally would have applied to at least 10 schools to feel "safe". You have a great GPA but the DAT is average. A 20AA is the 5th percentile for both Harvard and Columbia. But it also really depends on what is in the rest of your application. I'm assuming you have a good amount of shadowing/volunteering hours?

I have a friend who applied last year with a 26AA and 3.7GPA who only got post-december interviews. He ended up getting an interview late February from one school and eventually got off the waitlist in late April. I took at look at his application and immediately found a red-flag in his personal statement. It was not only a typical cookie-cutter personal statement in which he drew comparisons to other students in his undergrad, he also talked negatively about dentists from the country he is originally from in order to show how he got interested in dentistry. I hope you don't have any similar red-flags in your application.

Otherwise, I think the main issue is not applying to enough schools.

Temple is my number one school honestly, but it is still disheartening not hearing back from all the others. I don't think there are any flags in my PS. I would describe my PS as typical, but nicely and honestly written.

Some of my stats:
- science and overall GPA: 3.92
- Extracurricular activites: - 200 hours hospital volunteer
- 25 hours ortho shadow
- 35 hours oral surgeon shadow
- Temple dental school extern (40 hours)
- Research in chemistry 1000 hours (with a first author paper just submitted for review).
- Rec letters: committee + 3 science letters (all very strong).
- DAT: 20AA, 20PAT, 20TS
- DAT: 19 QR, 19 RC, 21 ORGO, 25 GENCHEM, 17 BIO

Chemistry major, undergrad is Temple.

It's whatever honestly :/ not much I can do anyway.

Does "Temple dental school extern" involve shadowing a general dentist? If not, I would definitely get some shadowing with a general dentist done asap.
Other than that, your ECs look really good.

I agree with the above, many schools specify that at least half of shadowing needs to be done with a general dentist because the school isn't training you to be a specialist, they're training GPs. I hope you hear back for Post Dec!

Yeah! The extern part, as I described in the app, pertained to me shadowing a variety of students and dentsits alike (mostly general).

Several people I know got interviews for mid-January from some of the schools you applied to. They received an email about it about 3-4 weeks ago.
