Hi,

I just recieved the email from AADSAS that I would have to correct my course listed on my application form.

My school is semester system (first term: Sept-Dec/ Second term: Jan-Apr) and we call Winter session (Sep-Apr) and Summer session (May-Aug)

When I esummitted, I didn't divide term 1 and 2 so I just put everything in winter term for every year.

I got the email to divide each term by
FALL TERM = First semester
WINTER TERM = second semester.

Here is my question.
Why is the second term called winter term?
Shouldn't that be spring term?

For example, they want me to list like:
my first year 2003-2004
- First term: Sep- Dec 2003 FALL
- Second term: Jan- Apr 2004 WINTER

Second year: 2004-2005
- First term: Sep - Dec 2004 FALL
- Second term: Jan - Apr 2005 WINTER

BUT It seems like my first term in second year is before my second term of first year:
(1st year 1st term: Sep-Dec 2003 --> FALL term 2003)
(2nd year 1st term: Sep-Dec 2004 ---> FALL term 2004)
(1st year 2nd term: Jan-Apr 2004 ----> WINTER term 2004)

When I called them, they just repeated "put everything like transcript"
But my transcript doesnt use WINTER/FALL/SPRING term.
We use Term 1 and Term 2.

yeah it seems like the winter term comes after the fall of 2nd year but they understand the reasoning behind it. intuitively it's a little awkward to grasp but they know what you mean.

Thank you so much for the quick reply!!

It seems okay if I use
Term 1= Winter
Term 2= Spring

Do you think I use Fall/Winter as they mention it in my email
or use Winter and Spring term to make more sense?

I have the same problem (UBC) and I got the same email. I would just follow what they said and use "Fall/Winter".

Anyone knows which term to report if the course is from Sept to Apr?
Would it be Fall or Winter? My transcript leaves the term 1/2 space "blank".

if it's a full year course i did the following:

Fall 2003, Biology 101A, Grade: IP or IN (incomplete), 0.0 credits

Winter 2004, Biology 101B, Grade: A, 6.0 credits

At my undergrad the first semester was considered worth nothing, while the second semester was worth the full 6 credits so i marked it down as such. you get the drift. just follow how your transcripts allot credits and grades etc.

I called AADSAS to check to see if I had done it right, and they said that I had, but I just put the Sept-April courses in the "Fall term" as on my transcripts it does not differentiate between the Fall term and winter term. So I just put (e.g.):

Biology 101 - 8.0 credits (Fall term)

They said that looking at the number of credits it was worth and comparing it to your transcript they would be able to figure it out.
