Help finding EMT Job/volunteer position

Hi, I am currently attending school fulltime, but I have been trying to get a job/volunteer position as an EMT with my emt certification. I am looking for only a part time job or even a volunteer position for a few months now and I seem to be unable to find a position that will fit my availability.

What is the best way to look for a job/position? I don't really care about getting paid, I just want to do something with my EMT certification. How common is it to find EMT volunteer positions? Anybody have any ideas on how I should go about this?

I attend school in West Los Angeles if that makes any difference to anyone.

I very highly doubt you will find a volunteer gig anywhere in LA. And I would wager that anything part time pre-hospital outside of private transfer services is also probably out.

Contact every fire/EMS company within whatever radius is comfortable for you and ask to speak to whoever is in charge of hiring.
