Help! Please read my Personal Statement!

I thought I was done, but my brother read it and told me it lacks enthusiasm... that I spend more time apologizing for my life rather than conveying a true passion for medicine. But I HAVE had many experiences that have blocked my pursuit of medicine... and I thought I was supposed to talk about those. Anyone willing to critique one more PS?
