Yeah - I have 5 schools, and it was a real pain. You have to enter only the stuff from the original school, and then you will have to send a transcript from every school as well, even if it's only 1 class that you transferred to your main school.

I want to use my AP scores to fulfill the english requirements for the pharmacy schools I'm applying but I didn't use those scores to earn any college credits. Where do I enter these tests taken? Where do I send the transcripts? Basically, what do I need to do so they know I'm using the AP scores to fulfill the requirements?

Even if it does show up on your undergrad transcript (for Univ. of the Pacific at least), you would still need to send the AP scores to the university admissions center.

I'm not really sure how to enter them on pharmcas though, I hope someone can help you because I'm wondering this too.

there should be a code for AP scores, like school code 99999 or something, i dont remember exactly, but i dont recall it being anything tricky, and i think maybe when you're in the section to report your grade there's an option on the bottom for special circumstances of the grade, and AP is an option there. i think.

wow, we can use the AP test scores for some of the requirements now????

yeah like the english requirements for ucsf

I used my AP class to fulfill my English Comp I. I think the best thing to do is to ask the school that you're applying to what you should do about it. I'm pretty sure you have to send it directly to the school. I couldn't even get the AP place to send it to PharmCAS because their digit code didn't register with their computers. Hope this helps.

thx a lot =P

Hello everyone,
So I have a letter service at schools that have my 3 letters, but do I still need to have all 3 letter writers fill out the pharmcas Reference Forms before the letters can be mailed from school to pharmcas? I'm so confused, does anybody know? Thanks! 😕

i'm pretty certain that they at least need to fill out their own copy of the pharmcas reference forms. Best bet is to call pharmcas directly and tell them your situation. Then when you find out , try posting the solution here too, b/c i'm sure there are others in the same situation. cheers

What I did was give the pharmcas forms to the professors that were writing my letters. Then I had them forward the letter and the forms to the letter service at my school. I will then have the letters and forms mailed to pharmcas through the letter service. I am pretty sure you need to included the forms with the letters. Hope that helps.

when you preview the personal statement on pharmcas, why don't the paragraph indentations show? it does not show paragraphs. i'm i doing something wrong?

I had the same problem. I just justified everything to the left, and doubled spaced between paragraphs.

so did it come up as paragraph that way

The double space separated the paragraphs, but I wasn't able to get the regular format with one tab at the beginning. I posted on this when I was having the problem, and a bunch of last year's applicants replied with similar advice. You might try a search, although the Search function can be a pain.

Normally I would use the search for this - but it seems to be down and out for the time being.

My questions are...

1 - What is the deal with the waiver concerning LOR's. What exactly am I waiving? Does it matter If I choose not to waive it? Has anyone had a negative impact as a result of waiving it?

2 - Do my official transcripts have to arrive at pharmcas prior to E-Submitting??? I am in a holding pattern right now, and would really like to get that stuff in... Any thoughts?

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

if u don't waive, it means you don't trust the writers. most schools won't even look at the letters if yuo don't waive them. ALWAYS waive the right.

2. u can submit the transcripts b4 e-submit. in fact, it makes it easier b/c after u e-submit, they can verify your grades faster.

You are waiving the right to look at what your reference said about you. I'm not sure about how the schools look at it, but your reference will see that you are not waiving it, and it may affect what they write about you since they know you will see it. And I guess if the schools can see that you didn't waive your right, they will see your LOR as not as truthful compared to if your reference knew no one else would read it.

Thanks for the info on the waiver - I did waive those rights, I just get paranoid anytime I waive anything... just being cautious.

On number 2... just so I am certain. I can E-submit early, but... it will take them longer to calculate my GPA??? Thats OK - I just want the schools to see that my stuff is in early - kinda get the foot in the door. If my transcripts get there mid - August, thats cool with me. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys, I think both of you are right 😛

You may e submit when everything is filled out but, PharmCas will not send out your application to schools until they receive your official transcript.

I just E-submitted my application. I took PCAT last in January of 2006, do i have to request that my scores be re-sent to pharmcas or do they already have it in their system?

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

when you took the PCAT, did u tell them to send it to Pharmcas then?

if u did, then no. but usually, u have to designate somewhere when u take the PCAT.

if u didn't, then yes.

If you took the PCAT in Jan. and requested it be sent to Pharmcas but did not have a current application at that time, you may need to request Harcout to send it. I have not e submitted yet. I checked under Status-tests and it says the official results will be posted there when they are received. There is nothing from my January PCAT. When I retook in June and listed Pharmcas to receive the results, I had already opened my application so it should show up(along with my Jan. results) when they are mailed out next week.

You may want to contact Pharmcas directly with this question.

you do you need to request Harcourt send the transcript again...From my understanding they don't keep any information from the prev. year! It's $20 not too bad...I already did the same.

i was wondering if anyone who just submitted their pharmcas app. how long did they take in processing your application? let me know.

Pharmcas says to fill it out exactly the way it shows on your transcript.

So i'm from UC-Davis and I've taken Biological sciences 1B.. on my transcript it says

BIS 001B Intro Biology

Should I write BIS 001B Intro Biology or BIS 1B introductory biology

I'm really confused, sorry if this seems really trivial, I just am paranoid one mistake will cause a delay in my app.

Thanks guys

Write exactly what it says on the transcript so write ÏNTRO Biology. I had similar issues and called them to confirm.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to know how you guys were dealing with the pharm cas "honors and awards" section and the the "extracriculars" section.

1. Did anyone put the dean's honrs list on the app? If so in what section and how di dyou put it in? It's werid bc pharm cas tells you to put deans honr list in only onces, but they only allow you to put one date in. How is that supposed to work if you were on it multiple times as it was not consecutive

2. How do you put in the fact that you were amemebr of club for 4 years, but served as a treas, or president for one year. Again, pharm cas only allows you to put in one date. For eaxample, if I put in Sept 2003- June 2007 MSA member, treas, vice pres it is ambigues as to which positions I held at which times. Obviously I did not hold all the positions for the entire 4 years.....

how is everyone else doing it??

1- Just put any date, it doesn't matter, really! I interviewed at 7 different schools and I realized they didn't care.
2- If you were a member of club, just put the name and your highest position, that's it.

Hi, I submitted my official transcript but I have to actually delay my application and would like to turn in my application at a later date with new grades. Do you guys know if I can re-submit my transcript to pharmcas with new grades even after I have already turned in my transcript and its been recieved?

Sorry to be impatient but does anyone know?? :scared: 😕

Yes - when you print out your transcript request form (from the colleges attended screen) - you can select on that sheet whether or not you want to update grades (summer grades) or you want to correct a mistake (select correction). Pharmcas, upon receiving this form, will update your GPA accordingly and mail your new GPA to the schools you applied to. You can still E-submit now if you want.

I thought the updated copy was only for fall courses?

I don't see why you wouldn't be able to update your grades though if you have not e-submitted your application, but I thought you could only update your grades after fall quarter once you have esubmitted.

I'm not sure though..

Thanks for the reply! I thought though that once you submit your application (I haven't e-submitted, but if I did), you can't update your grades until fall quarter is over? I was hoping though since I didn't e-submit, I could update my grades still.

Thanks for all the help guys.. so stressed out because I may have just missed a deadline August 1st for Tier 1 UOP and I'm seeing if I could still salvage something

Hello, I wanted to know how long applications are kept through the computerized system. I originally went to one school a few years ago and applied and didn't get accepted due to low gpa now I am reapplying but I do not want them to know I already went to a previous school because I basically failed everything but now I have a 3.87 gpa. I grew up! Please let me know because I don't want to get disqualified or something for withholding the info is there anyway they could find out? WRITE BACK ASAP!! THANKS!!!

you have to send them ALL the grades. if u have an upward trend of improvement, that will help your case GREATLY. just explain why you had low grades.

I don't know how long, or if at all PharmCas would keep your information in the system. If you're applying to the same schools, then yeah, the school itself might know that you had bad grades before and if you don't report them that will appear dishonest. Look, you've clearly got an upward trend of improvement for your grades if you've gone from failing to a 3.8. The committees will see this and will look favorably on it. I think your good grades will definitely overshadow the bad. I wouldn't worry. 🙂

As for the original question, I just e-submitted yesterday, so I odn't know how long it will take.

When we send out reference contact info, do they get a form that asks not only for a letter of recommendation but also a rating form for the applicant? I know that UCSF will accept the PharmCAS version but it has its own preferred version. Does anyone know how this works? Do I have to print out the UCSF ratings form and ask my professor to mail it to PharmCAS or directly to UC? How does this work if it's electronic and not paper?

UCSF isn't using its own recommendation form for this admission cycle (thank god). They'll just take the PharmCAS form and LOR.

I don't actually know what the PharmCAS form asks because I'm having my references do it electronically, so I didn't have to print it out and get to look at what it asks. Maybe someone here printed it and could tell us 😀

Yes, the LOR request forms will contain a form that ask the professor to rate you in different categories.

i just got it received by pharmcas today.. so im believing it took approx. 4 days. i sent it in on july 25 like first thing in the morning, and got notified today tht it was processed.

It seems like there is a ton of things to read "before you apply." Really though, what all do you have to submit for the pharmcas? Also, if you start, can you save your progress and come back later to finish? Hope my post was clear enough. 😳
