Hem/Onc fellowship application thread 2010-2011!

Just got off the phone with UC Davis. "We have sent out invites. If you haven't heard from us, well, you haven't heard from us".

As a courtesy, I wish they would at least send out rejections. Oh well.
 
@blacko: I agree I wish they would let us know one way or another. At least we are not holding out hope we could still get an interview with them.

I wonder how many other programs are like that. I am thinking its a lot as I have not heard from any of the programs (except one).
 
I almost want to ask them why. I had every qualification they list as a necessity, and one of the interviews I was most certain I may get. Not trying to give any wrong vibes folks, just sharing. It's all in their filters I guess. Hoping for better luck next week.

it is 4.17 in Seattle....so assuming they leave ay 5.30 we have more than one hour ...before the business day ends..
 
I am assuming they send invitations ONLY, if they keep their promise.
 
I thought they said they will send BOTH rejections and invitations at the same time.
 
Thank you very much for applying to our fellowship program. We plan to let our applicants know on Friday, January 21, 2011, whether they have been selected to interview with our program.
The application review committee will review only COMPLETE applications, including:
--3 reference letters
--Medical school dean's letter
--Medical school transcripts
--USMLE scores
Applications must be complete by December 31, 2010, to provide our reviewers with enough time to review all applications prior to January 21, 2011.
I will let you know if additional materials are needed to complete your application.

BTW, what does USC stand for?
 
Just a quick note to let you know we are still on track to notify our applicants on Fri, Jan 21, whether or not they have been selected to interview with our program. To give fair consideration to all applicants, we do not issue any invitations prior to Jan 21.

UW has sent out messages later than 10pm pacific time in the past. I wouldn't be surprised if that were to happen again; especially in this situation.
 
I emailed the PC and asked her but did not a response ...will see

Fred Hutch has already sent out interview invitations today.

you will eventually hear either way whether you will interview or not from all programs you've applied to.
 
I have not heard anything from UW, I am assuming if they have sent out interviews already that I am among those NOT selected. Anyone heard from Georgetown or UNC?

I got IV from UNC, but didn't hear anything yet from Georgetown. Looks like some one got IV from Georgetown already.

Fred Hutch invite by email at approximately 4:45pm yesterday.
 
Need help please. Just found out that MD Anderson requires 4 letters. Only have three, this may explain why we are not getting no iv nor rejections since application is not complete. Anyone know what other programs require 4 letters from your application list.
 
Does anyone know where i can find resources on what programs hire
HOSPITALISTS for Malignant Heme/Onc/BMT?

I know of a few programs - but would like to know what else is out there/where I can apply.

I saved myself the disappointment and did not even apply there
 
It is expected, since I did not get invitation while some others got called.

Me too. May be my CV was that bad that they didnt want to wait till Monday. Ha! Ha! HA!:laugh:

not sure if really the number is up or they r making it up just the way of saying "rejection"!!
 
Moffitt rejection yesterday.. Really depressing 8th rej on a Sunday 🙁🙁
 
I doubt that the total number of applicants is different but probably more people are applying to a higher number of programs compared to previous years. Programs see that as " many appliacationcs". This is pure specualtion though
