Congratulations on your acceptance.Dont know where you got through, but good job.about the loan.The answer is that yes you do need a SSN.For any loan that you apply, even if you do have a person to co-sign for you, you would need your SSN or some tax papers.I am not sure what they are called.

U dont need a SSN to get a student loan as they will assign some number to people who dont have a SSN. I know, some of my friends took loan like that.
This is the last years info and i am not sure about this year, but i probably contact the banks regarding this.

I agree with international here. I did call a loans representative and was given the exact same informnation that they will asign a number to me.
By the way International, i did get accepted at USC and would like to thank you for your reply to a couple of my posts...!!
Do you know of a way that me(H-4 visa) and my wife (H-1) could apply for a loan without a co signer. Also since we will be local residents, the amount required (I'm assuming) will be the tuition amount..right?
