Take your physics pre-req before you take the MCAT. You would be severely hurting your chances for MCAT success if you don't. Not to mention that you'll have to take physics anyway.
I took algebra based physics in college (class said calculus based, but we only used calculus a few times... was pretty silly) and tutored AP physics. The AP physics material that my tutee's had was pretty easy in comparison. Maybe 50% to 25% the difficulty level. My college class was far more conceptual.
