Can you hold multiple seats until March? If I were to put down a deposit at Nova and KCUMB?

DOitright said:well...if you have the money to do it, I guess you earned the right to be able to do that...you applied early and worked hard to get accepted to more than one school...I do agree with Medic though...some people are still waiting around and might not like the idea of somebody holding their potential spot in a class! you make the call! 👍
medic170 said:I don't see a problem with that regarding the rules. However, some of the people around here still waiting to get accepted may have a thing or two to say about it, at least I would. Don't do it Doc2b, that is why they have deadlines. Are you having a hard time making a decision? If so, maybe sdn can help you with that. 😉

yposhelley said:Thats a good reason for holding. Hopefully your twin brother has an equally identical application, and will get in at both places as well.![]()

American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine
5. Applicants who have made a final decision on the medical school they plan to attend have the obligation to promptly withdraw their applications from all other schools.
This is pasted from the aacomas website https://aacomas.aacom.org/. if you click on the before you apply link, it will give you a list of responsibilities as an applicant. i couldn't provide the link to the actual page bc it was a pop up.
i don't know how seriously you have to take it, or if there are any repercussions for not going along with it. i only became aware of the policy last year bc i had a friend who withdrew his applications from all other DO schools after getting one acceptance. i can't imagine they would rescind your acceptance or anything, but you might want to look into it anyway.
my alias said:well some individuals might perceive sending in a non refundable deposit as a final decision, but by your logic, one could decide the day before graduation that they don't want their degree from a specific school.

ScienceMind said:It is funny how once you get accepted to multiple schools you tend to forget how it feels to simply want to be accepted by any school willing to take you. The fact is that there are many qualified people that deserve to go to medical school. Just because a person is not accepted first, does not mean that they did not work as hard as another applicant who is accepted. I would have to say that you should decide on one school and let another person have a spot. Yes, you should make the decision to go to the school that you want to be at, but not at the expense of another person who also wants a spot. Good luck in your decision. I know that it is not easy as I had to make that decision a couple of years ago as well.
