I think the men and women reviewing your application are objective enough about it to appreciate the fact that you held a job while keeping a high GPA...if any school is really going to judge you based on (like you said) a legitimate job, then you're better off somewhere else anyway. I would include it if I were you...who cares that its Hooters, they should respect you as a busy server just like they would anyone else working at TGI Friday's, Olive Garden, etc.
Okay..so other than Hooters..I've done a good deal of modeling (catalog work for dept. stores) and I was a cocktail server at a club for about 6 wks. Under work history...I could just include my modeling work for the department stores..but then they might google me and see bikini pics from surfer mags and my modeling agencies.

i dont now about hooters, but you should definitely put modeling down. Most schools google you ANYWAY. And theres nothing wrong with bikini as long as you dont have any nudes, your fine. I'm a model too and i feel that it strengthened my app. I wrote that in my PS. - it made me a more outgoing person, taught me how to deal with all sorts of situation including conflict, allowed me to meet a lot of different people-- networking. So in my opinion thats a plus. Schools want someone whos outgoing. And with your fabulous GPA no way theyr gonna think of you as a "dumb blond" 🙂Okay..so other than Hooters..I've done a good deal of modeling (catalog work for dept. stores) and I was a cocktail server at a club for about 6 wks. If you have work experience that is not related to the medical profession, is there a spot for it on the dental application?
Okay, so assuming a secondary application asks for this, would my 2.5 yr run as a Hooters girl hurt my chances of admission to dental school? Many (older women especially) really hate what Hooters stands for. Anyways, my GPA is over 3.9 in both science and overall and I'm at a major university.
I think he meant to say he was a male model for Huggiesdent guy...when you say male model, do you mean like one of those guys that stands there without a shirt on in front of the store? Or do you mean brand rep, like front of the store cashier/greeter? just curious lol.
loli think he meant to say he was a male model for huggies
I was a male model for a hair product company. I did not find it relevant to include on my application.
Well it WOULD be relevant if it meant you worked while you were a full time student, volunteering, and shadowing. It shows you can handle a busy schedule and that you have time management. It's even better when you get straight A's while doing so![]()
Even if it adds to your application, I dunno if I would take my chances... you never know if one of the app officers might be a super-anti Hooters person...
Otherwise, if you decide to put it on, then maybe come up with a creative/clever answer if they ask you about it? Somehow relate it to dentistry, so that you can show that the things you learned from your job helps you become a better candidate, and not just talk about it as some job where you wore short shorts to make money. 😛
pics or it didn't happen? That went over my head. lol
