Hi guys,

Have any of you thought your interview went horrible, and then you were offered admission into the school?

I just had my interview, and although it wasn't a horrible interview, I feel like my answers didn't come across the way I would have liked them to. I think I blew it, and am now planning the rest of my courses for September. I'm going to re-apply next year, but man, this was a major shot to my confidence.

After one of my interviews, I felt like my answers were not good. Like, I would answer with something for example, my worst class. I might have answered organic chem (which is not a good answer anyway! lol) because having been interviewed in the spring, that class was on my mind. However, I then went on to tell my interviewer that Political Science was probably worse. Not in those exact words but you get the idea. I don't think I prepared as much for this interview as I did for my other one.

Anyways, good luck 🙂

i was so bold as to tell my interviewer that "studying entropy in general chem was extremely boring"

🙄

Hi PotatoSalad,

I think that it's safe to say that the majority of us who have interviewed for a class slot feel that our answers "didn't come across the way I would have liked them to." It's only natural to feel that way--we are our harshest critics. I personally felt the very same way you did after my interview--and thankfully it all worked out. I think that you need to stay as positive as possible and you just might be pleasantly surprised when you get a nice acceptance letter. Best of luck :luck:

I cried after my UK inerview and was accepted as an out of state student less than a week later. They have a series of 3 interviews. I thought the 1st two went pretty well, but I thought the third was horrible. There were two interviewers. One was pretty nice and didn't say much, but the other was mean and didn't like any of the answers I gave him. He kept rephrasing the same questions over trying to fish out the answer he wanted. With one of the questoins he was like "I was thinking more along the lines of..." and gave the answer he was looking for. It was really frustrating and he seemed to have a bad attitude. Somehow it all worked out though...

Did you get in?

yes i am going to start at auburn in the fall. but it was mainly due to grades/pcat i think.

I kind of operate on a different wavelength sometimes and i am sometimes very honest about what i think as long as it isn't hurting anyone 😀

I had a phone interview for Creighton University. I thought it went pretty bad because I just had the feeling that the interviewer did not really like my answer. I also checked back with my friend abt the interview and he was saying that I was not supposed to answer like what I did to some of the questios asked. However, in two weeks, it turned out that I got accepted.

At PBA, I lost my baggage--thanks to Continental Airlines--and my suit, shoes, and stuff for interview were inside; resulting in my 'drastically' reduced self-esteem because I am the only person "dressed" casually. This is the school I am going to go this Fall 🙂

I heard a story from a friend that someone had an interview at UIC and they asked what their favorite class was. He said "Organic chemistry". The interviewer then proceeded to draw an organic chemistry problem on the board and told him to complete it. Yea, he didn't know the answer and he didn't get in.

thats a bit harsh. If the interviewer did that to him then he ought to have expected the same of everyone.

Well, you guys were right...I thought the interview could have gone much better, but I guess UBC didn't see it that way! I got an email yesterday informing me I was in! 👍

Thanks for the kind words of encourgament and support. Without this site and people who contribute their advice and experiences, getting in would have been much tougher. 🙂

Now I have to find a place to live, which is a whole other story!

congrats

I am of the opinion they have a pretty good idea of who they really want to let in before they even have the interviews.
