How accurate is BR Verbal to the real thing?

decent...7/10...with EK verbal being 9/10... and AAMCs 10/10

This is pretty much right on, and I used all said material. 👍

I would add that the BR verbal on the CBTs are a somewhat better reflection of the real deal than the BR verbal workbook.

Not to say that the BR verbal book is bad material. It seems like they put quite a bit of work into strategy, identifying question types, etc..., but the passages themselves and the question stems are unrealistic.

i think that the nondiagnostic tests they have in the beginning of the book are pretty terrible, but the diagnostic passage questions seem to be more closely related to inferential/evaluation mcat questions, though they still don't reach EK levels.

Another gripe I have is that their answer explanations are incredibly long and they throw in all this background information that shouldn't matter at all in answering the questions based on the passage, but sometimes do. I mainly bought it because I couldn't get my hands on a TPR verbal workbook, and i didn't want to use up all my ek passages so fast.

by the way, does anyone have a scoring chart for BR verbal?

Are you saying they are more difficult? I am finding some of the answer explanations and questions to be absurd.

How do you all feel about Kaplan's VR section tests? I think it's a joke. I've read through their explanations over and over and they don't make sense. The question stems aren't even close to the real MCAT (which I've taken). Anyhow, time to dump Kaplan and get on the EK Bandwagon. I wish there was an electronic version. Would help us get in tuned with CBT.

Kaplan is trash, wipe your butt with them.....

I did one and got a 14. Too easy and not representative....👎
