I have not taken the MCAT yet but i keepin hearing that the Verbal reasoning is the hardest. How? isn't it like the reading section on the ACT? or alot different? Please explain. Thanks!

If you don't read critically, and look for the tone of the author and the main idea of the passage, then when you'll read a question, EVERY answer will seem like the right one. It's tough to explain, just take a practice verbal test (NOT Kaplan, NOT Gold Standard, but ExamKrackers or AAMC, but you shouldn't waste AAMC early on).

It's not just reading comprehension, and you won't find the answer in the passage. Rather, take what you got from the passage, and use it to answer question based on inferring what the author implies, or extrapolating it to answer something outside the context of the passage.

As previously alluded, MCAT verbal focuses on different things than the equivalent SAT and ACT sections. On top of that, MCAT verbal has a harsh curve and is the hardest section to improve. In the sciences, one can see a nice improvement from gaining a solid understanding of the concepts. For verbal, you must hone your test taking and comprehension skills which is significantly tougher to accomplish.

so is aamc 3's verbal representative of the real mcat's verbal? the answers were usually written in the passage. there were a few tricky ones that elicited a WTF, but overall it wasnt too bad. and the curve was not as rough as i was expecting. but how does 3 stack up to the rest and actual??
