How do people pay for expensive schools like NYU and USC?

I went to Penn which isn’t quite as bad, but it’s still up there.

I got a scholarship and commuted 3 hours per day. Paid for it with loans. Paid off said loans in a little over a year working.

Living with family and commuting. If family also has the means to pay some tuition there won’t be interest like there would be for a loan.

A lot of them won’t. The interest will collect faster than they can pay off. They’re crossing their fingers the government will forgive it one day.
