Do schools in general take a dim view of reapplicants?
Do they restrict the number of times a candidate can reapply to a specific school?
If a significant time has elapsed since last applied is the applicant treated as a new applicant?
Do schools tend to remember people who reapply?
Mention any schools that may have a unique policy concerning reapplicants.

No. In fact, they may take a favorable view of reapplicants, but it depends on what youve improved on since last applying.

1st year- no interviews
2nd year- lots of interviews and lots of waitlist spots
3rd year- Lets just wait and see??? shall we

I improved my gpa, rewrote my personal statement, increased my DAT.

So I would have to say that schools like applicants that show some drive. Its funny how people get so flabbergasted when I tell them I am applying for the third time. Some say look it something else, I say puck you! I look at like this, I don't want to look back in 10 years and say could shoulda woulda.

wow hockey, I'm impressed by your perseverance. Can you tell me what your GPA and DAT scores were for each of the three years you applied?? Thanks.

What worries me is the rewriting of the personal statement. How radically different do you have to rewrite each time?

Do schools even know exactly what you wrote the year before? I can't imagine them remembering one applicant out of the thousands that apply.

I am a reapplicant this year and I think that schools look favorably on reapplicant if you have improved from the year before. I actually did not rewrite my essay because I don't feel I could have written a better one and I really don't think they even look at them until the morning of your interview.
