I'm taking A&P and Ochem this quarter, along with working 32 hours a week. I feel like I'm drowning in schoolwork and don't have enough time to get everything done, unless I sleep just 4 hours a night. Even at work I'm carrying around my notebook and reviewing lectures or studying for exams/quizzes. My wife doesn't work, though she's actively looking for a job, and I'll be eligible for full-time health benefits in a couple of weeks at my job. I feel like I have no life except work and school, but maybe that's what is to be expected? Perhaps it's a taste of what's to come in the future. How do the rest of you balance school, work and your home life?

pray your wife is understanding =)

I work about 35 a week. I understand completely where you are coming from. Unlike my peers if i don't work i don't go to school. keep working at it and realize that its temporary for better days.

I worked throughout my undergrad and grad studies. But I am single and have no strings attached. I am taking two grad courses and working full-time, volunteering, pretty active and doing so many fun stuff. Manage your time and find some time at work for study. I study at my work all the time.

There is no magic bullet. You have a limited amount of time, and you want to get 'A's in your courses while working fulltime to support your family. You just have to plan for every minute of your life. I have been in your situation for the past two years. I applied for the first time this year, and I have 5 interviews so far. You have to have a really good task management system. Google "Getting things done" (it's a book by David Allen).

Some one once told me that during your life you will have to drink 50 gallons of pain... Whether you chose to drink it now all at once or drink it for the rest of you life it's your choice your going to have to suffer a 50 gallons no matter what.... With that being said I have a 7 month old baby newly married and working 40 hr sweep for the military and going to grad school full time . I see it as I sacrifice now for a life so later I can enjoy life with no pain. Suck it up and work ur butt off until you get were you are going . All ways begin with the end in mind an you will make it.

I have worked anywhere from 25-40 hours a week during most of my undergrad and i am also married. I want to echo what the previous poster said.... time management is super key!!!

I use iCal to basically plan out every hour of my day. This is not set in stone, but the schedule allows me to use my time wisely. Otherwise i will find myself watching TV or on Facebook or SDN too much!! Believe me... i was a seriously disorganized person and probably one of the worst procrastinators there was, but it is possible to change!!

Good luck!!! 😀

From my wife's perspective, probably horribly  Fortunately for me I don't have to work quite as much as others, but I do still work and I'm still crammed for time every second of the day almost. I think there's a point where you just have to allot yourself so much time for your studies, and realize that there's other priorities like family too. Then, when you get to the end of your time frame you set aside for your studies, you have to just be satisfied with what you got done and move on, otherwise you'll end up neglecting everything else. If you know you only have so much time, you'll often make a much better use of it. This is what I have found anyway, but I still find myself going beyond my time frames because I'm an OCD workaholic... but it's a continual process
