Hi everyone. I'm a US medical student. Due to some personal and family circumstances, I'm going about a non-traditional route in my medical education.I have my Step 1 scheduled for Nov. 17th, and I will be sitting down to study for this exam starting tomorrow. On a practice test, (NBME 11) just yesterday, I got a score of 182. Over the past few months, I've done all of first aid and about half of UWorld questions and annotated FA with the supplemental info from UWorld.
I'm planning on starting a fresh, with FA and UWorld and I'll be buying DIT as I believe I will greatly benefit from a structured study plan, but I'm not sure how to begin or do this. How do you incorporate FA, UWorld, and DIT, as well as gym time into your schedule?
If this helps, I'd say I'm a below average student. On most exams, I'd either place near the average or below it and it seemed as if I needed to study most material more and harder than other students to grasp it (to the point where I feel out of place in medical school). I feel as if I'm a bit conceptually weak in that if two topics are very similar to each other (such as some lymphomas or leukemia), I will know them individually, but when presented in a question, I will often get confused or end up choosing the right answer.
