Hello,

I was planning to take the MCAT this summer and I have heard that signing up for a test date/test site that you want is difficult if you dont sign up as soon as the AAMC releases them. So does anyone know when AAMC is going to open registration for the September 2013 tests or how I can know as soon as they open them? I really don't want to drive across the state to take the test as I have heard some people have had to do lol. Thanks!!

You'll be happy to know that the demand for summer test dates, and especially fall test dates, is considerably lower than those for winter and spring dates. In my area the seats for the March, April, and May MCATs were virtually all sold out by late February, but none of the dates for July, August, and September ever filled up.

You should still sign up ASAP (especially if you're in an area with a high concentration of pre-meds), but I wouldn't get neurotic over it since you basically want to take the test in the least popular month.

The best way is to follow the aamc_mcat twitter account

Or like their Facebook page. Remember to mark them as important, or whatever it is called, so their statuses will always go to you. They normally have a Facebook status saying that MCAT dates for a certain range if dates have opened.
