I have 18 days left of my first year and the summer cannot get here fast enough. I was wondering what other students are planning on doing right after they finish.

I will have 10 days of relaxation before I start my summer research and I am going to make the most out of it. Drinking, golfing, lounging by the pool, sleeping 10 hours a night, going to Cincinnati Reds games, etc..

I think I might buy a really nice watch, too, as a little celebratory gift to myself.

I got two videogames to keep myself occupied this summer and planned out my summer's workout schedule..and bought a few books on my nook as well. Total investment = 140 dollars or so. The cash was left over gas money from my travel stipend for our practicum.

A group of around 35 people from our class went skydiving. It was incredible!

That's right. I received the whole Bailey's collection from my aunt and I mostly spent the summer drinking, partying, traveling with friends (to the Netherlands, Tibet, and Nepal) and spent some quality time with family in the end. I would do anything to have another summer like that 🙁

I went camping at a two-day long DMB concert and drank tons of beer the weekend after 1st year ended. Then I basically continued to drink tons of beer for the rest of the summer without as much DMB.

I did 2 weeks of scuba diving, hiking, surfing, and sleeping in. Time for summer semester now 😛

I left 2 days after finals for 14 days in Europe. When I came home, I did some volunteering for political campaigns & whole lot of nothing. It was glorious.

Hospital bed, emesis bin on the table, banana bag on the IV pole. Just kidding, of course.

I might take a bottle of cheap champagne with me to the exam and pop it open on the way home, hoping I don't get cited for an open container or ethical/professional violation.

Man, some of you guys have way more money than I do. I felt sick to my stomach splurging to buy two videogames that I know will give me over 200 hours of entertainment.

I haven't done much of anything and it's glorious! My hospital elective doesn't start until July, so until then I'm just hanging around my house. I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I cracked a beer before noon my first full day off. 😳

Lots of beer the first few days after my last exam, then a week camping and climbing out west. Did a little research project during the rest of the summer, but lots of fun times thrown in. Very different from this summer 🙁

This is what red cups and empty soft drink bottles are for.

Keep your notes and books. Relax so you can be ready to study and read during second year. Organize yourself.

I have a wedding to go to the day after my last final then I am heading back home (19.5 hours drive) and taking 1 day off to lounge at the pool before starting at the hospital for a research/clinical experience. Should be a whirlwind of activity.

Flew to Santiago, Chile immediately after finals. Then Buenos Aires after next week. Then Lima two weeks later

You know you can't say that jokingly to your colleagues without getting in trouble where I am at.

You must be in China or Cuba or something, huh? Commie bastards

Q 10 min Jagerbombs with Crown as necessary. Vodka Cranberry can be substituted if your insurance only covers generics...

That sounds like the prescription to forget everything you learned in the year.

I guess it's just me, but I'm kinda bored. After being busy almost every minute of every day I find myself at a loss (school ended about 2 weeks ago). I honestly forget what I did when I had free time.

Anyway, so far I have cleaned a bit, gone tanning when weather permits, watched a ton of movies, read a book, and started my research. I semi-celebrated with my class when the year ended although I didn't go to every single event cause I figured after a year of seeing them every single day I needed a bit of a break. Mostly I slept a lot (like, 15 hours a day for a week). I'm currently planning a trip for me and a friend to go to Europe in July.

But yeah, I'm a little bored. I'm probably going to try and shadow a lot to keep myself entertained.

You're not the only one. I took a day off after my last exam and then started my summer research. I will be traveling for 4-5 weeks, but in the meantime I really need to keep busy. I've also finally re-arranged the furniture in my bedroom and will be tackling my kitchen and living room soon.

And then there's a ton of shows I plan on marathoning. Best way to watch a tv show! 😀

(Day of final exam, I celebrated by helping a friend move and then playing DoTA w/ classmates & non-classmate friends... there was alcohol & good food involved though 😳).

Two more weeks... 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

I hear you dude!!! Two weeks here as well!

Then OFF TO PUERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRICO (and the rest of the southern carribean).

aiiiiii momi I can't wait

ugh all you first year students disgust me 😛...have a great summer break and enjoy it while you still can 🙂

About 20 of us went to Vegas to celebrate finishing first year.

Part-time research (my own project got funded, yay!!!)
Full-time job 'til 6/18, then PRN work (yay!!!)
Moving back home because my MS2-4 campus is near there - no more weekend SO!
Review MS1 block concepts (NOT studying, just skimming to hit key concepts, mostly just physio)
Reading for fun (finally)
Getting recommended MS2 materials together (later on)

MS2 starts 8/9 so my summer is a little shorter than most. I think.

Went to Europe for two weeks (London and Paris), then came back and worked for my dad doing landscaping, and for an ambulance company as an EMT.

Ugggggg...finals start tomorrow!!!!:scared:

On Friday...OFF TO PUERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTO RIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCOOOOO!!!!😎

watching the world cup from 7am to 4 pm daily

Camping, hiking and mountain biking in Alaska...it was awesome! 👍👍

Easily the best vacation that I have ever been on...but, to each his/her own.

I'm starting school in August, but I'd imagine that I will celebrate by going the work immediately the next Monday and working all summer to pay off my rent 😡
