If in December you received an email stating that you matched to Anesthesiology, then you do not have to reapply during intern year. You will do your TY year at whichever location you were assigned, will be given your contract to sign next October to confirm that you still wish to pursue training in Anesthesiology, and will go straight into residency once you finish your internship.

If, however, you just received an email that you matched to a TY year (did not say preliminary Anesthesiology), then you will have to reapply for a PGY2 spont in the Fall of your intern year.
