How impressive is Phi Beta Kappa?

I recently have been invited to join Phi Beta Kappa at my University lately, and was wondering how impressive is this academic society?

I got it last year too, I was asked about it in a couple interviews but it wasn’t a game changer or anything.
My undergrad makes a big deal about it though and it looks pretty good on a resume. You should join.

What kind of questions did interviewers ask you about PBK? I accepted my invitation to it this semester, but that's really the extent of my involvement with it. Not sure what I would say if someone asked about my experience with them...

Yeah I wasn't really involved with it either, they just asked what it was and what I did for it. I basically gave an overview of what it is, said I was honored to be recognized, and that membership was just symbolic. It normally ended with them saying "congratulations that's really cool" and then we moved on haha

It will not make or break your admission, but it's a nice complement to the rest of an already good application if it matches your stats.

If you are PBK, you are in the top of your graduating class, a clear accomplishment. Those who make it dismiss it as no big deal. It is a big deal. If it wasn't, everyone would be in. Enjoy being recognized for some hard work and sleepless nights. You deserve it. No one skates in.
