Going to a good school provides lots of opportunities like research (this is a LOT more available at research focused top schools), smaller class sizes, organized global health/service programs, networking, access to leading experts in many fields, and tons and tons of funding for pretty much anything you would want to do. Med school acceptances aren't just about your GPA--your experiences count too, and some schools make it easier to gain these experiences. Also, your college experience isn't just about med school acceptances. It's an exciting environment to be in and learn from. Try to see your undergrad experience as an end in itself, not just a stepping stone for med school.
