I know this is beating a dead horse, but I still don't understand how it is at all possible to apply by June 1st. I know that you cannot send any transcripts until you have an account w/ aadsas (say, May 16). So let's say I create my account w/ aadsas the very first day it is available (may 16) and that same day I tell my school to mail my transcripts. Then it takes about 5 days for my transcripts to get to AADSAS (May21 now). Then it takes another 4-6 weeks, according to AADSAS to verify all your transcripts (mid-June, early Julyish). According to those logistics, the very first day I can hit "Submit Application" is Mid-July? So again, how is it possible to open your account the first day it is available and still be able to submit your application by June 1st?

You can submit your application on the first day. AADSAS will wait for your transcripts to be received and once recieved they will begin to verfiy transcripts. You will be a part of the first applications to be sent out and that is the key. Even if AADSAS takes 4-6 weeks to send your application yours will be with those applications submitted May 16th (sort of, they need your transcipts, but as soon as they arrive, your application can move forward). If you wait until June 1st to click submit, AADSAS won't even touch your appicaition until then. Which means even if your transcripts were received on May 22nd they won't do anything on your app until you click submit and pay them.

ah... thanks utahdent, I knew I could count on you to respond first.

Request your transcripts in early May, even before you submit your app.

Also, have your personal statement already prepared, or at least a very fine rough draft.

Have all of your letters of rec lined up and waiting to be sent in.

two years ago I submitted mine around May 20th. I was something like # 30 in the whole nation. They start filing your application as early as June 1st, they start at the top of the pile, meaning in order of submission. Send in your application as soon as you can fill it out, already have your statement of intent written so you can copy and paste it in, then sometime in the next couple of weeks get your letters and transcripts sent to aadsas and take the DAT sometime before August and you are golden!

Great thread initiated! The miracle of getting into the dental school is getting your application filed early whether or not schools work on a rolling basis.
