How late is too late for thank you note?

I shadowed a very kind dentist last semester and I have been meaning to send him a thank you note. I gained a lot from my time at his office and he always explained everything to me in great detail. My last day with him was about mid April so its been roughly 2.5 months. Should I still send him a thank you note? Also should I send his staff a thank you note as well because they were really helpful too.

never too late to say thanks. you could probably thank the dentist and his staff in the same note, but if you're feeling extra thankful, separate notes are cool too.

Are you afraid that schools will call him up and he won't say extra nice stuff about you because you never sent him a thank you letter? They most likely won't, but do it if you want to put your mind at ease.

I was thinking about doing the same thing. Maybe send an email now, letting him know where you applied and then when you get acceptances, maybe send in a fruit tray or something with a thank you note for the office?
